It steals your stuff at first.
Then later, it steals a single resource in your inventory.
It steals a few of them over time and eventually... it COLLECTS that resource for you and drops it at your feet.
Like being able to train it.
Their behavior was changed due to the complains. You just have to progress in the story and you'll be fine, then in the late game they'll steal again.
When An-An is in your head, they're nice.
Well it was/is for me,, I hope it helps you too :)
Mind, that does pretty much render their item-stealing a meaningless annoyance, since it just forces me to pause what I was doing for a few seconds.
On the other hand I also like that the first "threat" you meet isn't something that actually attacks you.
So, if it was just tools that were an issue, no problem. I can handle that. But if it can take the sea glider right out of my hands while I'm moving, well, that can't be avoided. Take away their ability to steal my sea glider, problem solved. I can deal with taking care of my smaller tools.
Just a tip, don't knife them till after you get your stuff back because the attack makes them swim away at top speed. Just swim after them (they won't go far) and steal it back.
nasojir undoubtedly would prefer an XP-accumulation system that allows you to earn a Perk that makes Seamonkeys ignore you.
"Git gud" is not an insult or a pejorative - it's a plea from gamers who understand that some games require developing your actual real-world skills to play properly.
"But it's not fair that I struck out! He was throwing the ball too fast! He should throw it slower!"
^Sorry, that's not how it works.
So what you are saying is that you actually didn't read a single thing in my post then. I mean, you sort of nit picked something that was just completely out of context and then made a personal attack on me. So...wow.
But thanks for your completely useless and off topic comment.
