can't find coral sample?

what does it look like? where is it found? just want a computer chip for seaglide or habitat builder

If you go down a bit into the twisty bridges area you'll see some red coral pieces growing off the side of stuff. They aren't as conspicuous or shallow as in the first game.

It looks like before, except the most common variety has blue glowing spots and they seem to be mostly single pieces, not columns as before. However one table coral breaks into multiple samples, unlike before. I've been finding them ~80-150m down in the "twisty bridges" trenches, can take some time, though.

If you're having a problem collecting the table coral, try "attacking" it with your knife.

Doesn't work for me. I've tried it on dozens and dozens of coral. EA bug, I suspect.

are you destroying the ones on the wierd plants? because coral samples are 100m down in the twisty bridges

I was looking for coral earlier and had some problems myself. Try knifing the coral at the base where it's attached to the rock, that seems to be where the hitbox is.
