A Suggestion for the Sea Monkey
I understand if this idea seems silly, but it's been on my mind for quite some time.

Sea Monkeys are the only creature that lay their eggs in nests, instead of leaving them in the wild. Given that their adult forms are known to steal equipment from your hands, I'm thinking that there's a way that can be turned to help the player.

In essence, if the player hatches a Sea Monkey egg in an Alien Containment, then the Sea Monkey Baby can be adopted as a pet, and interacted with in a similar manner to the Cuddlefish or the Trivalve.

But as a bonus, once it reaches adulthood, it can build a nest on or near your seabase, and be sent out to gather goodies in the wild, like limestone deposits, blueprint fragments, stuff like that. The Sea Monkey goes out into the wild, and returns a little later, depositing whatever it picked up in the nest at your seabase, much like a tamed Stalker would hunt for scrap metal for you in Subnautica.

Probably a hundred hours or so of development time to change the behavior like that.

There is a tamed stalker in original subnautica that can bring you items?
Are you serious, after 40-50 hours I did not know that.
Stop lying! :S

Not lying. If you feed a fish to a Stalker, preferably a Peeper, or give them metal salvage, they won't attack you for a short time and bring you scrap metal. Any Stalkers hatched in an Alien Containment will permanently act this way.

The idea is good, but I want a Pengling pet 100 % more

Pengling pets could bring fish, food and water.

Honestly, I would just rather them add in a way to get them to leave the player alone. Not sure if I'm the only one that thinks this, but the whole Sea Monkey idea was cute for literally 5 seconds, then they immediately became the most frustrating and infuriating animal on 4546b to this day. So far they are the only creature I've wanted to be removed in either game.

On the flip side of the coin, I like where OP's head is at, but I agree it might be up hill to put something like that in. One can dream, though, right?

Mind blown.

Better idea, REMOVE THE DAMN THINGS FROM THE GAME!!

Never found a more annoying thing in any game I've played. Sick of making a new sea glide every time I go out! About 12 hours in and so sick of the damn things I'm about ready to say the hell with it. At least make it easy to kill them or something. Swing a knife at them, they TAKE THE DAMN KNIFE!!!

Whoever came up with the idea of these things needs someone to snap them in the genitals constantly, as that's about on par with just how FRUSTRATING these things are.
