Well technically you have to drive it by remote control without blowing it up, but yes.

it's also on the ground in little clumps in some of the caves the Stalkers inhabit... especially where there's pups.

Honestly there seems to be nothing in the game to indicate that you need a Spy Pengling to do this so I think the spoiler is entirely justified. Not being able to remove the fur with a knife but you can with a little robot that in the description takes "samples"? dumb game design choice.

step 1 : punch stalker to death with prawn,
step 2 : make sure there isn't another one near.
step 3 : use radioshack rc toy penguin to pluck fur.

in one of the recent updates, they added a pda with Sam mentioning that she managed to get tufts of fur from one with the spy toy, but it is still a dumb mechanic.

You don't absolutely need the Spy Pengling. I find fur in caves, especially when there are young stalker cubs about. It's small and easy to miss, but eventually you can get enough to build a suit.

Penglings are a prey species for Snowstalker.

How and why we're able to use a robot prey species for the Snowstalker to get furs makes NO SENSE.

Why the Snowstalker doesn't attack and try to eat the Spy Pengling makes no sense.

The price increase makes no sense.

This game makes no sense.

Actually, I had no problem with that. Even predators that target by sight use smell to identify targets, and the Spy Pengling has a very wrong smell to be prey. If it happens for real then it could happen in a game... 8-)
