Ribbon Plants
Ribbon plants are quickly becoming the rarest item after the Iceworm update as the need for more batteries to fabricate tools needed to progress has increased. The thumper also needs a battery for each one made and these are a one use item. I used 8 looking for the purple tablet fragments so that is 16 plants (8 batteries) gone. I have never seen them regrow so unless we are able to farm them later in the game eventually they will die out. Save those dead batteries for making tools etc to get the most out of the resource if you have not built chargers yet.

There are around 140 ribbon plants in the game. They don't regrow.

You'll find them easily in twisty bridges.

If you have the PRAWN Suit, take that up to the Arctic Spires (make sure you have the drill arm, too) so you don't need to use thumpers. The ice worms seem to completely ignore you if you're using the PRAWN Suit, and there's lots of resources to mine up there with its drill, too.

Exactly my point....thats only 70 batteries which I have already thrown away 8 in thumpers and have to go back in after making the purple tablet. So maybe another 4 batteries thrown away. After crafting other tools that need batteries and a couple of spares it does not leave the Iceworm area as a replayable area due to battery shortage for thumpers.

As this is early access I'm sure the PRAWN Suit will not be ignored by the Iceworm in the future.

I'm not sure if this is possible but if it isn't it should be

Grow your own in an exterior growbed

Did they really add Farmable plants in the Ice Worm update but no pots or beds to grow stuff in?

Kinda weird IMHO.

Ribbon Plants were taken from original Subnautica, but the exterior growbed to farm them isn't in the game yet. Just wait for them to add it.

We can grow in the non-experimental. Get seeds at Omega and plant in small wall pot. I have one for lunch almost every day. :)

Remember cut to get seeds not pick. ;)

Ahh I see - in Subnautica you could only grow flowers in the small wall planters. Thanks!

At the beginning i had troubles finding them but now i stumble across them all the time.

Btw: do batteries empty faster than in original Subnautica?

Why not just build a recharging station?
Cougarific Sep 23, 2019 @ 4:43pm
I think the point is many things are becoming single-use items i.e. no recharging.

A recharging station won't help when you need six batteries to build six Thumpers (which disappear after use).

Batteries are needed in thumpers which a one time use only so charging will not replenish the ribbon plant supply needed for more.
