Never played Ratchet and Clank; so the closest I could describe it is Saints Row 4, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, and Jet Grind Radio had a really sloppy threeway and somehow a kid came out of it.

i played Ratchet and Clank and yes it's kinda because of the Guns, The Devs know how to make Guns, Sunset overdrive is like Jet Set Radio + Gorillaz and has some Scott Pilgrim vibes
The grinding and weapons is like R&C ofc, otherwise not really, and can't confirm Borderlands part. Maybe it's a prototype of Spider-Man PS4 which could make sense if it was really in development for that long.

It is basically the gameplay of Ratchet & Clank albeit more bouncy and fluid; with the writing akin to Deadpool with its self-awareness in its plot and dialogue

When i first bought this game way back in 2018, i thought it was going to be like Saints Row 4, Crackdown series or even Jet Set Radio. Then i stopped playing.

But, after playing all the Ratchet & Clank games on the PS2 and PS3 with an emulator, I came back to this Sunset Overdrive game and realize how similar it is.

It basically has most mechanics from R&C. Like skill points, big selection of weapons, weapon upgrades, and even the rail grinding and also double jump.

It's like Ratchet & Clank, but swap it with human character models. although i could say, there are somethings that are different from R&C, like it doesn't have much depth for the weapons and leveling. It is fun nonetheless.
