seriously though let's just be optimistic that whoever this "another reliable Team Ninja member" is, he's trying to revive the game
As i said somewhere, is easy to blame Shimbori, after all he could not deliver on the time window KT left them for their fiscal year.
DOA5 didn't launch with all that extra fanservice, that stuff was added later over time, and eventually became DOA5LR
Be patient and DOA6 should get extra fanservice added over time, we just have to make sure that Koei knows that how important fanvervice is in fighting games, and hopefully Shimbori still has enough influence to sneak in more fanservice.
The file names (when you break into the archives) label most of those new costumes as "COS 003" or, "004", and even "005", while file names for their classic costumes are "COS 001" indicating they were always meant to be default.

My Ayane mod only works by using their naming convention, which has her classic costume listed as the first entry (COS_001)
So it's obvious that the director intended to have the best classic costumes serve as default, something changed before the reveal, and they made the 3rd, 4th, and 5th costumes become the new defaults.
Shimbori had our backs the whole time! It's clear that the someone beyond the devs are responsible for pushing this effort to tone down the series.
He did tone it down, no matter how you want to believe it. He hided sexiness behind the default outfits and that discouraged people from buying the game, especially the casuals who only seen unimpressive outfits from showcase screenshots and trailers.
One last thing, I don't believe that the higher ups in Koei Tecmo forced him to do any of this.
From what I've read, KT board members didn't like the direction Shimbori was taking DOA6 to, and they warned him that the fans will leave the franchise behind. That's why he changed his attitudes a little when the game was about to release, saying that he's been lying for months to hide the good stuffs from the western media. Too bad it was too late to win the fans back.
IMO, he's the one responsible for the flopped launch, him and Tom Lee should go away.
The sexy costumes are still in the game though.
They're not completely erased like how MK11 did.
And even then, like I said, the sexy costumes are "default" according naming conventions in the game's archives. It's obvious they never intended to hide the classic sexy costumes, so this was last minute.
You're misinformed, OAG is a good site, but they're woefully uninformed about who wanted to do what with the game.
Shimbori was the one who was dictating to Koei that he had to show off the fanservice to keep customers, that fact was misreported by OAG who turned it the other way around.
He is responsible for the flopped launch, but that's because he didn't handle communication and messaging correctly.
Yeah, he messed up the marketing of this game. If he doesn't know anything about marketing, he should've left it to people who actually know.... like... the marketing team, ffs.
And by showing off those default outfits on the showcases, it's like a marketing suicide. When you want to promote your upcoming new model of a car you don't show off its worst looking photos, right? Shimbori doesn't even know marketing 101.
This is on him. He's responsible for that and it was correct to blame him, so I don't understand why you're trying to cover his azz.
I'm just clarifying what actually happened, because calling him an SJW makes zero sense considering all the effort he went through to ensure fanservice would be maintained.
Because I can guarantee I am going to do none of those things.
The future DLC for DOA6 will show us what side they're on (not season pass 1, I mean the next seasons).
with doa6 "success" tho, we arent getting next game until 2022 and on next get in best case, if ever.
Who knows.... it might get worse, or better, depends on who's the new leader.
If it's someone like Takaki (Senran Kagura) or Yokō Tarō (Nier Automata) who don't care about western media criticisms and only make games they want, and the fans want, it'll be better than someone like Shimbori who didn't have the balls to stand up and fight the western oppression.
