Any chance they will fix controller support?
Several posts about this already but several of us simply cant get a controller to work for this game anymore. Its worked fine in the past but suddenly it does not work anymore and it seems to only be this game in particular.

Try modifying Steam settings for controllers via Steam->Settings->Controller->General Controller Settings. Try checking some of the options (depending on your controller).

Big agree. Literally no other Fromsoft games I have, have this issue. Sometimes they won't initially pick up the controller, but a quick Ctrl-Alt-Del, then cancel and return to the game, somehow fixes the issue except for Sekiro.

Well there goes my plan to get the PC version. I'm still too crap with m+k to play fast-paced games without a controller.

Yeah I gave up trying to fix it. The odd thing is that is suddenly seemed to affect a group of people. Worked fine for a long time and still does for most I think

It works perfectly fine for me with microsoft controller. 3rd party controllers or ds4 with ds4windows may cause trouble.

I was using a Microsoft Xbox controller as well

Then maybe try in wired mode?
I play wired and sometimes the game doesn’t detect my gamepad. In such case I just unplug and plug the controller again and it always works.
This can happen in other games as well - not just Sekiro.

Try changing the controller settings in the games properties to use steam input instead of use default settings. It worked for me, so it might work for you.

Changed to steam input and still no luck. Also tried unplugging and replugging controller with no luck as well

i got the same problem in Sekiro, DS Remastered and DS3 is working without any probs.
Before the issue i got 120 hours with the same controller (Xbox 360 and Xbox One).
Tried around 10 Youtube Videos to fix it and PS4 / Switch Controller. Nothing works for me ... it's just frustrating tbh.

Whatever's going on here, my gut says you should take the issue to Steam support. Sekiro - to my knowledge - hasn't been updated in 2 years, so if your controller was working before, it seems likely that this is the result of something that Valve did.
I tried using a controller at my friends house on PC and it played perfectly. However the settings were already made. Sekiro uses XInput, and shouldn't rely on Steam in any way or form. Steam just uses a mantle to enable controllers, such as Dinput (DualShock 3, 4, DualSense, Nintendo).

I FIX IT

you have to go to your library

Get in the game ( dont start it )

Go to the little controller icon on the right

Click on de controller and then go to comunity layouts

And then download one thats says ( sekiro real pin xunpalo) idk what that means but is a layout that someone made for the controller to work

You just have to download that layout and thats it
