Shichimen Warrior , do I need confetti and umbrella
After beating the LongSwordsman mini boss which completely wrecked my nerves because of the breaking hard lock issue (specially in tight spaces like that cave) I ran on to Shichimen Warrior , which is basically unplayable- there's nothing you can do -UNLESS: (and i found this in a guide wiki) you have confetti and/or an umbrella. WTF? How am I supposed to know that? Shouldn't the game tell me I need these to beat this mini boss? Are other bosses like this, like you need specific prosthetics and items to beat them? I am this close to uninstalling the game because of this, (and the camera hard lock issue ) which would be a shame because I think the game is great overall.

Well, the boss uses a status effect as its main gimmick. So it makes sense that you should use consumables, skills, and prosthetics to fight those status effects. Divine Confetti is an item that you use for apparitions, as stated in its item description, and you know what an apparition is when they use Terror. Most of Shichimen's attacks are Terror-based.

And you don't need those items to beat it, it just makes the fight incredibly easy as it is a direct counter.

Very few enemies are in extremely small spaces like that, and only a couple of bosses move so fast that they can force the camera to unlock by crossing you over, but yeah it isn’t great when it goes nuts. You simply can’t see anything sometimes.

Also, no you don't need either of those things to beat the Shichimen Warrior. Confetti will simply allow you to do normal damage against apparition type enemies, but they'll still take damage (albeit very reduced) even without it. It'll also add a damage buff which is stronger against apparitions. Oh, and you're supposed to know by reading what the items you pick up do. In this case, the confetti.

As far as the umbrella goes, you don't need it either, and unlike the confetti it should be fairly easy to fight the Shichimen Warrior without it. All of its attacks can be dodged (or sprinted away) if needed, including its kamehameha, which is what one very late umbrella upgrade can help with. That being said, you can also dodge or you can simply close the distance to the Shichimen Warrior while it charges.

Lastly, every single Shichimen Warrior in the game is optional. You can simply come back to it when you're stronger if you’d rather spare yourself the frustration. Their rewards are useful, but not necessary.

All 3 Shichimen Warriors and all (3 land+ 2 water) Headless enemies are optional terror sub bosses.

You do NOT need to fight them at first ecounter.
Before the first headless in Ashina Outskirt there is a text and a divine confetty item.

And yes in order to realisticly kill them you need divine confetty and or purple umbrella with counter attack perk or purple flame vent which deal anti apparation dmg.
Terror cure consumables are also nice to have.

Basic vitality dmg will get reduced by a lot so they are very hard to kill normally.

Other bosses do not have this mechanics.

You can buy infinite divine confetty once you unlock it near the endgame by defeating a certain boss.Unlock carries over to NG+.

So these sub-bosses can be left alone until end game..

Both Underwater headless can be killed normally but you should still use confetty to increase dmg dealt.

Should be noted that divine confetty increases dmg and gives chip dmg even if blocked againts all enemy types, some types like apparations take more extra dmg.

Longswordman yeah that is one of the fights where the real boss is the camera.
Good news you will fight a lof of loneshadows and will learn their moveset eventually.

If you want to fight traditionally, yea. But fun fact, you can use the jump attack kill if you buy the scroll from iirc blackhat badger.

Just ignore all of those irritating Shichimen and Headless Mini-bosses. They are an absolute pain in the ...

The three LongSwordsman bosses are really difficult to beat, if you focus on beating them by using both attack and deflect. The only real way to beat them is to Mikri counter them when they do their Unbreakable. (I play them countless times via the Mini-Boss Mod, and come to this realization over and over again)

When you fight them, just focus only on blocking them and attack, only sparingly. Wait for the inevitable perilous attack and then drop the Mikri counter . Quickly go on the offence after that and watch their posture bar just explode. They become quite easy if done correctly.

Pretty much all your doing is pressing LB most of the time, but ready to press (LB + B) at a moment's notice.

I beat the one in the cave without the Mikiri Counter which I don't have and can't get right now because I don't have the resources. It was a nightmare, specially wiith the camera issue. I have only beaten one main boss, the horse rider, and mini bosses are just as hard, WTF... I am intimidated by this game. Honestly I don't know if I am going to finish this. Made no such promise to myself, it's too much work.

maybe being quiet will work. hope this helps

Didn't need Divine Confetti nor Pacifying Agent.

All I used was the Phoenix Lilac Umbrella to block everything then follow up with Projected Force's passive attack.

Projected Force allows you to do it without Divine Confetti and the Umbrella means you won't ever need Pacifying Agent.

With this dual pairing, there's no need to skip any Headless or Schichiman Warrior. They because crazy easy.

Yeah purple umbrella+counter attack passive will kill terror enemies with almost zero risk.

On very high NG+ cycles they might survive all emblems (but never tried)

Malcontent used 3 times +divine confetty+dmg sugar will likely kill terror enemies both lives without almost any risk on earlier NG cycles.

It should be noted that while under divine confetty effect if Shicimen warrior is in the air you can perform anti air deathblow againts him if you bought the air deathblow scroll.

@ drumaddict

You can easily acquire Mikiri- Its the first skill available at the bottom of Shinobi Arts and only requires two skill points. You can easily 'farm' skill points by running around and killing all of the grunts in Ashina Outskirts. (They're easy cannon fodder) Once you've killed enough enemy soldiers, Rest at the Sculptors Idol and 'rinse and repeat'. You could get two skill points in like an hour of farming.

Judging by your comments, I'd say your right now in the early stages of the game and I got news for you: It gets much, much harder. Use the following as a general guide:
Apoloyn Jul 28, 2024 @ 8:35am
The key to playing Sekiro, is execution of the fundamentals during moments of extreme stress:

__Blocking__ There are basically two ways of Blocking in this game: a) Pressing LB in isolation and b) Pressing LB in conjunction with the left analog stick. Try pressing (LB + left stick forward) or (LB + Left Stick backward) when the enemy attacks you. Some combinations work well at close range, some at medium range- You have to use your intuition to decide accordingly.

__Attacking__ The Golden Rule of attacking is as follows: You never press RB more than three times, 1-2 is preferable. When you do press RB, you press it in quick succession, the duration of your attack should last no longer than 1 second, or you will 'run into' the enemy Boss or Grunt's inevitable counter attack.

** When you attack too much, you become greedy. In Sekiro, when you become greedy, you die**

You only need an umbrella for the rain and confetti for carnival. :terrorstatus:
