Sekiro™: Shadows Die Twice

Sekiro™: Shadows Die Twice

Statistiche:
So why was there never a Sekiro 2?
This game sold quite a bit. I mean not Souls levels but still quite a lot for a game of this type. I'm assuming it's a licencing issue crap? Could they do what FromSoft did with Demon Souls and Dark Souls, just make a sequel but call it something else?

The combat system in this game is so unique and well refined its sort of a pity to have it confined on a single title only.

Agreed they should find a way to use the combat system more and i felt the exact same way about trick weapons and beast and Kin transformations in bloodborne they were so amazing and nothing has scratched the itch since

From Software owns the Sekiro IP, not Activision. There's no licensing issues whatsoever, and From Software doesn't need to even consult with Activision to produce a sequel if they'd wanted one.

Most likely scenario: "Elden Ring and Armored Core VI are in the oven. We have our work cut out for like the next 4-5 years". Can't really schedule another AAA title in there. And considering they had the pandemic in the middle of ER's development, which likely contributed to the dealyed release, I'm not sure they have had all that much extra time or staff to be handling a Sekiro 2.

Give them a couple of years. There was a recent set of articles calling attention to the fact that Sekiro sold 10 million copies up until now. I'm sure they won't ignore its success moving forward. Though I don't know that they'll make a straight up sequel.

as long as it has the fun combat verity i'll wait as long as it takes
A Sekiro 2 would be amazing. This game probably has the best combat of all time. Nothing else quite like it. And then there's the story, which definitely left off with room to continue, depending on which ending you got. I could see them going back to it after some time.

We can only hope, but it's worth pointing out that Armored Core 6 was worked on by some of the same people that did Sekiro. If a Sekiro 2 is going to ever get into development, work on Armored Core 6 would have to stop (i assume they have a DLC planned given this was a standard feature of the older games in the series).

The game is very complete. You get several endings that can spell very different implications for the near and distant future, but not everything needs a sequel. I do however think we absolutely should have more games with the Sekiro style and flow of combat.

New story, setting and characters, but same philosophy for game design. Don't know how to handle the prosthetic arm in such a concept, but it could be dealt with in other ways.
Dark Souls was also complete and we got four of them. I think FromSoft can afford to at least make a sequel to this (and Bloodborne too while they are at it).

Actually, a sequel isn't even what i want. I just want the combat system to be salvaged from being constrained to one game only.

Elden Ring has clearly Souls combat despite not being part of that series, at least nominally. I could get down with a game that imports Sekiro combat despite not being called Sekiro.

You might want to finish reading what I wrote.
I wouldn't mind a Tenchu Reboot. I still need to finish Sekiro. Got past the big ape and stopped playing. Gotta start over now when I get a chance.

Sekiro was supposed to be Tenchu but developed into something too different. I love Tenchu, would be interesting if they did actually make a new Tenchu game with Sekiro-style combat.
It's only been 4 years. They've released Elden Ring AND Armored Core 6. When exactly do you suppose they had time to make Sekiro 2?
Well, those games are out, so they better make time now. Or else.
First of all, I would love to see that there will be Sekiro 2. But the facts that I have do not put a positive result to this wish.
Miyazaki, the director to the Dark Soul series, Bloodbourn, Sekiro and Elden Ring, did declare after his completion of DS3 of the DS series that he would not be doing or rather be involved in any series in the future. However, according to him, during the making of Sekiro, he and his team did have other games using the same combat system. Or should I say, other "Story" using the same combat system. However, he had not disclosed what the other "story" or "Stories" were. You see, the reason why I use the word "story" instead of "game" was that during the making of DS series, Miyazaki had an idea, "what if I can defeat an enemy without depleting his or her vitality?". He then spent the next three years to perfect the idea. This resulted in the combat system as shown in Sekiro. And Sekiro was not even decided to be the game to be released until very close to the public announcement event at the time. My wordings may not be very appropiate here but the fact that he said that Sekiro was "chosen" suggested that there was or were other "stories" on the table at the time. Ok, one of them might be Elden Ring as players of Elden Ring could see that some of the action animations are so so similar to some of those of Sekiro, if not the same. If the other "story" is not Elden Ring, there maybe chance that FromSoftware may release that "story" as a game in the future. But it is very unlikely that there will be a Sekiro 2.
Personally, with the Dragon Home coming ending, going to visit the home of Dragon, the "West" of Japan, that is China. There are thousands of folk lores in that countries. There are tons of possibilities of where Sekiro 2 will lead to. But, a big but, Miyazaki seems to be a man of his words. If he says he is not going to do any series anymore, that could be a very disappointing statement to all Sekiro fans, including myself.
Miyazaki doesn't like sequels

Though I would be interested in a game set in the world of Sekiro but in a different location EDIT: And no, not just a different part of Japan
