I want a sekiro sequel as wel but I’m unsure where they would go with the plot. Assuming the immortal severance ending (Aka the base one) is the canon ending, sekiro would be without a lord and wouldn’t be loyal to any specific clan. Perhaps he could become loyal to a new lord or become a mercenary in a new land, but those ideas directly contradict the first games philosophies of loyalty. And honestly with all of his bent up rage, I would not be surprised if sekiro became a demon after his master was killed and he had no purpose.

From what I have read, Miyazaki, since completing the Dark Soul series, he has NO interest in doing sequel. Bloodbourne is a good example. A few years ago (before the pandemic that is), news had come out that Sony was talking to FromSoftware about Bloodbourne 2. And Miyazaki was asked about it in an interview, speaking in Japanese, after translation, he was claimed to have said something like "it is out of my hand..." and he was not involved in it! This was on the internet. The way he answered it and his expression said it all.
However, from another interview of Miyazaki about the success of Sekiro, he said that during the production of the Dark Soul series, he came up with an idea, "what happen if I can defeat the opponent without depleting his or her health?" He then spent 3 years developing this idea after completing the DS series. And there was not only Sekiro but definitely one other game on the his table based on this "new combat system". It was just before the conference with gaming journalists that Sekiro was decided to be the game to be released next. As a matter of fact, the name Sekiro die twice came even later. So, there is another game with similar combat system. Could it be the next release after Elden Ring from FromSoftware, we will have to wait and see. As to Sekiro 2, in one of the endings, Dragon Home coming, Sekiro is travelling to the homeland of the dragon, to the West. West of Japan is China. It is a land full of folk lore and hence thousands of possibilities. The fact that Miyazaki being him, from his track record, the development time of his games is never short. I think we will have to wait till 2024 at least before we may get a "hint" or two what his new "baby" will be.

I’m unsure where I heard it but I believe a from dev did confirm that an elden ring sequel will be In The works soon.

Ah, the key question is, will Miyazaki be running the show? Bloodbourn did very well and Sony wanted a sequel but Miyazaki "turned it down" in effect.

Sadly Sekiro 2 wont happen, Miyazaki hate sequels, and I dont think activision will be interested in funding it too.

Activision didn't fund Sekiro. The Sekiro intellectual property is owned in its entirety by From Software. When From partnered with Activision, the latter simply offered to handle publishing tasks and professional testing, in facilities way larger than any testing team that From has, in exchange for a set percentage of revenue from sales outside Japan. Activision doesn't get to call out any shots regarding the future of Sekiro. At most, they could contact From and attempt to nudge them into making one, but even then From would have no obligation to include Activision in the process whatsoever.

And on that first note, Miyazaki stated he doesn't like doing sequels for the sake of making a sequel. Meaning, he doesn't like to force a story to have a continuation if it was never meant to have one. He has, since that interview where everyone misinterpreted what he said, specified that he will gladly work on a sequel when it makes sense to do one, in a more recent interview after ER came out.

Is not. There's no canon ending and only the devs get to call that out. Since none of them have, then there's no canon ending. End of discussion. Your opinions and mine are irrelevant. None of us made the game, none of use get to call out which is the canon ending.

He has never said anything like that. He has only ever stated that it's not up to him, because it very much isn't. From Software doesn't own any part of Blooborne, only Sony does. No one at From gets to decide on anything moving forward with that franchise. If Sony decided to make a sequel, they wouldn't even need to consult From, let alone hire them to do one, as there's no legal obligation whatsoever.
