What is the accepted way to fix controller?
I've tried devreorder and x360ce to no avail, using a Xbox One controller but I'm unsure if there's a xbox one equivalent of x360ce.

Update: Somehow managed to get the camera controls to work, but nothing else. Completely blown away on this one.

just use steam's built-in controller support

Tried that with no luck, pretty sure I used every option available with the steam options and it just didn't work.

Right click on Sekiro then properties there is some controller options there, try disabling or enabling some of the settings.

I've tried disabling, enabling, forcing on/off etc. It seems like nothing wants to work

Sometimes, disabling everything in Steam and letting the game take control of the controller works. Your controller can be used, it’s just a matter of you getting the settings right. Try using Big Picture Mode to play too. It enables the controller by default.

Messed around with the big picture settings and still no luck unfornunately.

Official Activision fix is to update your controllers firmware.

Seems as though my firmware is up to date, as no option to update it exists when I open the xbox accessories app.

At some point, having messed around with some of these settings, opening any game while having sekiro installed prevents my mic from working unless I replug it back in, as well as my mouse and keyboard.

Have you started Big Picture Mode, and used Steam Input, and used a default controller setup for your controller? Once you do that, you have to save the controller setup. This does work in lots of situations. Also, does the controller work on any other Steam games, and in the Menus for Big Picture?

Yeah the controller works in other games, saved the controller setup too. I'd read somewhere that a gamepad with camera controls was a config I needed for my controller, but that exact config doesn't exist for the Xbox One Controller. Still meticulously messed around with the other settings but I've had no luck.

Tried everything that I haven't already done here, I retried turning off xbox support on big picture and it had me uninstall my drivers, thought that'd get me somewhere after I restarted them but had no luck. Anytime I run this game it breaks my microphone set-up. This might just be a pass for me, appreciate everyone's help regardless.

from what I have seen controller issue varies person to person and a fix again varies and is a matter of trial and error sad to say.
I posted a guide on the 360c fix along with how to update your software for windows 10 possible chance you did the 360c incorrectly I know I did the first time. and the 360c along with updating software was the only one to fix my issue.
regardless I hope you find one of the fixes to work.

been having this issue with my xbox1 controller (even tho thats what they say should just natively work) there is a hacky and somewhat playable solution I have found if you go to big picture mode, then go to "controller configuration" > "browse configs" > "community configs" then select one of the xbox configs. its super hacky when interacting or using a menu, but it works fine for actual gameplay. I hope they make a official fix for this...
