Regular enemies spiked too much
Recently I just kill blazing bu, finally reach ashina castle and go to senpou temple, is it just me or senpou temple enemy difficulty spike a lot from ashina outskirts? One mistake and the monk there insta kill me, especially the one who use sword almost feels like when fighting the chained ogre back then. Or am I suppose to go somewhere else first, but so far the only two path I found is to the temple or to ashina reservoir which leads nowhere except the seven spears guy

What's your objective? You arrived at the castle and veered right off side paths. Why not explore the castle more?

I'm trying to not spoil much, but you definitely have more than just 2 paths.

Because going forward there's only this general waiting+locked doors, so i thought side paths must have path to unlocking the door but abandoned dungeon leads to the temple and ashina reservoir leads to nowhere (at least if I didn't miss something)

Senpou Temple's monks have a very different fighting style compared to most other enemies in the game. Their lack of weapons makes their moves hard to read. You'll have to get a feel for their tells. They aren't any tougher than other mid-game foes once you know what you're doing.

Monks tend to appear in large numbers. Use stealth to thin their ranks and focus down stragglers if you end up fighting a group. The ones without weapons are really bad at blocking your strikes (though they can still deflect you on occasion), so aggression works well. Prosthetic tools like firecrackers can help you keep large groups at bay if things get out of hand.

The monks with the huge straw hats are an exception. They're among the toughest enemies in the game imo. Thankfully they're quite rare. I'd recommend going out of your way to stealth-kill them whenever possible.

Exploring more of Ashina Castle first is a good idea. Try exploring the rooftops around the locked door.

Ah thanks for the tips, I never notice you can go rooftop hopping to the right side. I found an npc that gave me note to just follow the smoke signals. The enemy is annoying but not as hard as the monk.

Funny, if I didn't found that route I will never fight genichiro. I also just realize why before genichiro there's ashina elite, after fighting him deflecting genichiro attack seems like a breeze

The straw-wearing monks in that area, at least in my experience, are almost impossible to sneak-kill without taking skills to make yourself stealthier. Those skills are borderline useless for the most part, but they do make a difference with that enemy and a couple others.

I was able to kill them with sneak kill using Gachin sugar just now. But yeah their detection is crazy.

Oh right, forgot about Gachiin's sugar. That generally trumps anything else in terms of stealth.

yeah gachiin sugar is very useful against them, managed to enter the main hall by running with gachin sugar. Those bladed monks don't even know i'm running in front of them
