or hold sprint button and keep going into one direction and don't stop until her grab is completely miss
or just use umbrella it can deflect grab (when timed correctly which isn't really hard)
As a *reaction*, however, jumping to the side works well. Jumping back can work well, but if you're a bit late, you can get caught.
The samourai and Lone Shadows in the area are tough enough to provide a bit of a challenge, keeping the grind from being boring, and providing training.

Also as mentioned before umbrella with right timing is usefull.
Thanks for this. I still have not completed this boss fight after numerous attempts this weekend which just put me in a foul mood. This game has totally broken my gaming spirit. I feel so demotivated to continue. And the kicker is this fight is considered easy compared to the actual end boss fight I am approaching of which I have no idea how I am going to do it without not wanting to murder a small village in the process.
I need to remind myself that sometimes a break away works wonders. I tried for weeks to defeat Orphan of Kos in Bloodborne and Sister Friede in the Ashes of Ariandel DLC for Dark Souls III and both left me in a state compete despair that I would never possess the trigger skill reflexes to defeat them without the aid of a friend or online summons but literally after breaking for a few weeks to play other stuff, I came back to both those bosses and killed them on the 3rd (Orphan of Kos) and 5th attempt (Sister Friede and Father Ariandel).
So if history is the best progenitor for the future this time in three weeks/months time I will boot Sekiro back up and kill them on 3-5th attempt.
Is this your first or second play thru? I'm guessing it's your first and you chose the shortest ending and face Isshin too early on. This ending was my 3rd play thru by when I have gained higher attack value and know Isshin's moves. You can fight other minions to gain more skill points to acquire Ichinmonji Double which others have also said is the best combat art that doesn't require emblems. It's also the only combat art which helps you require posture and can't be interrupted once executed.
