Faithful one? Dragon Rot.
Who is the "Faithful one" with rot essence. It says "The coughing and wheezing sounds of an old woman of great faith. Keeping one's faith even when driven mad allows one to see certain things. Thank heavens..." would it be that old lady who guides you places and asks for rice?

Yup!

I have met an old lady that always points somewhere and talks about faith, but she never asked about rice and she didn't cough, despite me having the rot, weird.

Got it, its not just "some lady who points" its a FAITHFUL lady. Ashina castle statue, turn around. the only screaming preacher in the game, its her.

Ashina castle statue? Haven't seen that yet, I really must have missed something, because I'm already on the roof tops of the castle and inside the upper floors.

How do you heal her, dont you have to take her blood sample?
Whenever i talk to her all she says is "I dont know which way"

Have you talked with Emma? Did she expressly ask you for a blood sample from someone affected by Dragon Rot? Or did you just skip steps because you went and glossed over them in a guide?

Whichever the case, don't necro a 5 year old thread for something like this. You can make your own thread and ask the question.

I did emma's quest and I used the blood she gave me, I was wondering where I can find more.
I will always write on threads that pertain to the question I need to ask, that's why they are here and are for. there no need to make a new one.
There is no such thing as"necro" that's the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.
If you're bothered you can "unsubscribe from discussion", that's what that button is for.

You're adding nothing to the original thread. You're instead hijacking a dead thread to make it your own, and Steam mods actively close threads when they get necro'd. This one hasn't been reported, but it would get closed if someone did report it. And I don't ever suscribe to discussions on Steam.

And as per your issue, you don't need any more samples. You give Emma one sample, reload by leaving the area and coming back, or by exiting the game and loading back in, and talk to Emma again to get the method to heal Dragon Rot.

It's bad form to necro threads. If you were coming in on a discussions from some weeks or months ago that's reasonable. What you did isn't.

Regarding the tip, thanks. Ive healed the dragonrot once, I've now got it again, I thought you had to repeat the blood process. Cause I dont have dragon tears or whatever those things are called to heal it this time.

As for the thread thing, theres no reason for a question in an active game to expire, and to reopen it with the same question. it's beyond preposterous. As long as people play this game theyll have the same questions.
I dont look at the dates and I dont much care for that form anyway, when I google and find the question im looking for, I will add my question every time. Whoever is bothered can deal with it.
Im not gonna abide to something s'tu'pid just because some people do it.

There is an actual reason though, not just custom. By default, when you post a reply to a discussion topic, you get subscribed to the discussion and get a notification whenever someone else replies to it as well. So when you necro a thread, you're pinging a whole lot of people randomly for no reason. And that is rude, not some kind of arbitrary unspoken rule. Asking a question is perfectly fine, that's what the discussions are here for. There's just no need to send five random people who played the game at some point years in the past a notification about it.

Sure, there's also no reason to spam threads asking the same question when there is one for it already.
That would be much worse, having 50 same exact question threads when you do a search. Are you kidding me.

People who already got their answer from the thread can manually unsub on top and they will never get another notification. The fact that button is there proves my point, its meant to be used.
I get questions asked on threads I made 7-8 years ago and it doesn't bother me I made those threads for everyone who will ever play the game. Im happy to answer, and if Im not then ill unsub like a big boy.

If "Necro" was a thing they'd make these threads auto-expire after a specific time.
Just because some period passed between the original post and the last comment doesnt make the thread nonviable, that's totally arbitrary and in my view, ridiculous.
And I will never abide to something that silly.
