Sekiro™: Shadows Die Twice
No ultrawide support... (edit: FULL FIX is here from a modder)
There is no official ultrawide support, even though it would have only taken MINUTES to implement it from the developers's side. All they should have done is to reprogram the UI in a way so it automatically adjusts to the sides of the screen instead of locking to a 16:9 screenspace and making sure that the game's FOV + 3D view automatically extends to the given resolution and aspect ratio.

Games that are 15 years old or more were able to done this, but not a 2019 game? From a technical standpoint, this level of laziness is just pathetic. I think it's truly obvious by now that japanese developers do not understand nor respect the PC platform at all and do not care about future-proofing their game the slightest.

PC is a platform that is supposed to be about self-expression, about playing and experiencing games the way you want, yet the devs can't even give you the simplest option regarding this.

I wanted to buy this at launch with my friend, but now I'll skip it instead, just like DMCV (that also doesn't have official ultrawide support).

FULL ULTRAWIDE FIX IS HERE!

The game now correctly shows more on the sides of the screen. NPCs are also moving with the correct framerate outside of the 16:9 area now.

Finally, while this is optional, the static health and stealth overlay (red tint and black tint) can be removed with a second mod and I strongly reccommend it, you don't need them anyway. You can know how much HP you have left by looking at the health gauge and you can know when you are in stealth (you just need to look at your character's posture).

Here's how the game looks with the overlay enabled[www.wsgf.org] in 21:9 and here's how it looks without it[www.wsgf.org].

Link to the overlay removal mod[www.wsgf.org] (search for jackfuste's comment on the 8th page)

The only minor problem is that the HUD is 16:9 but it's minimal and it's not distracting at all.

Also, there's a random bit of UI that says "KeyGuide" near the top right hand corner. How do I get rid of that?

I dont think you can still disable the textures since it never got updated to the latest patch. I do use the "FPS unlocker and more" program to play in borderless ultrawide if I come back to the game.

https://github.com/uberhalit/SekiroFpsUnlockAndMore/releases

You can add your resolution there. Should be pretty self explanatory. But like I said, you have to live with the stealth textures and low health textures since those will be still in 16:9... Hopefully Elden Ring will have native ultrawide support.
yeah I ended up using that mod and everything is perfect now.
and this mod gets rid of the vignettes (or optionally resizes them)

I just installed the Nexusmods fix and it certainly works great for getting 21:9. Im playing on 3440x1440. The FPS unlock doesnt seem to work right though. I went into my Nvidia control panel too and changed max rate to 144 and turned off Vsync there along with setting it to highest available rate. It still plays at 60HZ. It looks good, I guess I will just be happy with that. If I switch it to windowed mode then I lose HDR. Guess I will just play at 60HZ unless I can figure out if there is an addtional setting I need to change in Nvidia.

Maybe using gsync with it doesnt work?

Actually, that is the worst thing to do with ultrawide display.
UI should stay at 16:9, otherwise it is quite uncomfortable. Latest examples are Dragon's Dogma 2, which made all the right choices regarding ultrawide support (UI is 16:9) and Alone in the Dark (2024) which have UI spread across the screen, so you either forced to sit quite far from the screen, which defeats the purpose, or you just can't see majority of UI at all if you are using 32:9 display.
