Armored Warrior Advice
I'm aware you have to push him off the bridge after getting his posture bar full. But you can't even get anywhere near enough damage with your sword. And the best bet is probably the shinobi axe. BUT this guy's attacks are 90% track attacks that just can't be dodged or avoided without backing away from him entirely. And all the times I actually get him filled, I end up pushing him into a pillar on the bridge or there's no spots to push him off.

You say he deals too much posture damage. Do you ever back up and block to regain your posture? Managing your own is just as important.
Yeah, I was just able to beat him like you all said, just taking my time and deflecting all his attacks. Guess I just have to slow down sometimes. Thank you all for the help and not being toxic in response to my idiocy :)

Everyone has had an 'idiot' moment in this game. I have had one...uhm...three...okay dammit I had several. But the game is the most fun I've had in this hobby this year. And like Dregora said, genuine inquiries warrant sincere responses.

The mist raven is in the Hirata Estate guarded by a purple robe Shinobi. Jump into the lake by the bridge with a hammer wielding fatty and two shield bandits (near where owl is sat in fire). The water will branch away under said bridge and there is a ledge on the right side you can walk on, a small cave entrance is concealed with bamboo at the back slice or run through them, multiple wall jump up and the three tiered pagoda is there along with the mist raven.
Yeah I’ve come across that spot before, he was super tough but maybe I’ll consider paying him another visit when I improve my stats a little more.
Early on he’s intended to be tough dude, you start to come across them as regular enemies later on in the game though and they become a lot more manageable. I’m trying to think if there’s another nearer to an idol you can “practice” on beforehand

Well my stats are 12 vitality and 3 attack power, would you think that’s more than enough to face him?
The main attack you need to watch out for is the lunge kick after his kick combo. A sideways dodge after the last kick leaves him really vulnerable and if you use the idol right after the Shinobi Hunter you can run left straight to the lake without any conflict with other enemies, this way you can tackle him with full health and a revive in stock.
Well I defeated him in my second try yesterday. Got lucky with the end though, he was cornered when I executed him. I defeated him with Bell demon on me. Well, you can deflect most of his attacks. And he's very very slow. So you can take some health off him initially, then start deflecting. If his vitality is low then you can easily fill his posture. Also, if you want you can use Firecracker to get some hits initially. But as with every boss in Sekiro, you have to deflect or you will always have a bad time.
You should be ok with that dude, he’s a standard enemy and only requires one deathblow

Yes 12 and 3 are enough even on Hard mode.
Glad to hear you made it. And yeah, the game sometimes plays a bit with the rhythm of certain enemies to throw you off. I mean, those axe guys in the estate can go die in a fire for all I care, what with their hyperarmor attacks that take forever to come out XD

In the words of Brett Bayonne describing DS3: "This game is unwavering, so you have to bend with it".
What I believe is that Lady Butterfly teaches you the core mechanic of Sekiro. You can easily defeat her if you go aggro on her and deflect deflect deflect deflect. Dodging and running too much usually doesn't works. She banged me for an hour or so. Then I understood my mistakes and defeated her without shedding my first life. From then on, I focus more on deflecting and aggression than dodge. And it's working well for me. If you still have some issues, you can farm skills first like Ascending and Descending Carp. They will help fill enemy postures more with deflects. Will help you with Armoured Knight also. Also posture recovery of knight is very slow, probably negligible. So you can take that fight with a calm head.
Why are you not parrying? Did you get this far without a single parry?
I didn't have prayer bead that is available by that time and I had to learn the parries to get it right, but once you learn the parries it works out okay.

As for the spear, somewhere in the description it mentions that the spear can remove "ill-fitting" armor. This guys armor is perfectly sized so you can't remove it from him. There are other enemies that the spear will work on.

Yeah, by moving around him and using the shonobi axe to fill his posture faster, I ended up never pushing out the window properly or just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dying to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ track attacks

You really have to learn how to parry, or you will get frustrating moments like this all over the place.
