With that being said, he's also one of the best boss fights in the game, so from a game-play enjoyment perspective he's fun to fight. Though if you are just going for achievements or such you can safely skip him. Keep in mind you do get a boss memory from beating him though that can increase your attack power, which saves you from grinding skill points to do the same with the mask you can unlock.
Cant get any Lapis in Shura ending.
If you combine malcontents ring with the second phase start burst you can deal massive damage like in phase 1. Malcontents ring used at the start of phase 3 also interupts his ring sweep special.
