Red "Kanji" perilous symbol is poorly designed
Ive noticed this happen many times, but the Kanji symbol is more trouble than its worth. For any boss that is larger than the typical "human" size, its helpful. But for enemies like Genichiro or the Generals that arent hulking in size, the Kanji danger symbol will obscure their ENTIRE body.

This makes it where they are about to do a perilous attack and the freaking japanese character is completely covering their body so you cant actually see where their hands are or if its a thrust or sweep.

Because it appears in middle of screen, and because the lock on makes your target in middle of screen too, its shocking that they didnt at least make the icon transparent or something. We need a mod that either moves it, or shrinks its size considerably.

sounds like a case of know your attacks because all these bosses have a unique set up to it so pay attention i guess and on genichiro all of his are extremely easy to tell and the generals way easier

What? After like.. 2 fights you know what moves they do and how to counter it. The kanji sign is useless. Watch the enemy. Not yourself. Every attack has tells. Especially genichiro.

HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT ATTACK THEY'RE DOING IF I CANT SEE THEM
I've beaten the game twice against these enemies and have never been blinded by the symbol enough to not be able to see them, it partially obscures them at "best," so this seems like user error. I admit they could have perhaps done a bit of a better job, but you can definitely still see the enemy movements prior to the perilous attack symbol and judge what they are doing.

I always thought the audio is the que, the sign is just a little more help.

I look at the body language of the attack to determine whether it's a stab or swoop.

but then again it doesn't work everytime, and I find that a good thing.

The danger sign does NOT obscure entire bodies. Not even on Loneshadows or Genichiro. It can be a distraction in a fight but is it really your biggest concern?
And you would have less trouble responding to moves if you would just LOOK AT YOUR OPPONENT.
P.S. The word “Kanji” literally means “Chinese Character”. You calling it Japanese triggered me slightly.

Plot twist: the real perilous attack is the kanji obscuring your vision.

Wait until you get to the last boss or a boss that has a blue light block your entire screen randomly.

Check enemy tell -> Prepare for button press -> Press when giant symbol appears

I didn't have this problem on Genichiro, are you sure you cannot see the buildup before red symbol? And is it really blocking him entirely for you?

You can remove the kanji with a mod now.

It's not tht it obscures. Is that it's bright red in a pretty dark game too. Worst part: when i actually react by the symbol i get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ cause it shows up too early.

Is the op blind or something like that?

Yeah, another stupid design decision.
Other games did it way better than this.
They should have made it so the enemy glows red or has this sign above his head.
Or if it's just there to obscure the vision, they should have made it color coded.

Ever time I see that symbol, I'm just like "Yeah... whatever..." and move outta the way, so nothing can reach me.
But hey, at least mods exists to create a better experience... kinda like in a Bethesda game.

It's shinobi instinct made into a game. He is watching the enemies every move and twitch. Where a spit second reaction decide over life or death. If you can not read the oponent you are dead.
