Fulminated Mercury Help?

So I am stuck on the illusion corrupted monk and O'rin that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥.

Anyway I decided to upgrade my prosthetics and the firecracker seems to be the best overall but I need fulminated mercury for it.

I can't find any though. I also don't know which enemies drop it.

I looked in the wiki but idk what enemies count as 'Ministry Gunners' for example.

My own experience and from others in gamefaqs, we don't know the exact math in it, but once I upgraded some I started seeing Yellow gunpowder from enemies that "didn't drop" it before, and then after another tier of upgrades ,Fulminated Mercury.

It might be that some enemies unlock those once you go down the prosthetics upgrades.
Granted they are still rare even after that.

The cannon enemies in Gun Fort will rarely drop mercury once you meet the requirements.

I'm still leaning towards it being gated by progress more than upgrades because that sounds far better for progression.

I don't think I ever had a Mercury pick-up before the finale, around the time they started dropping from the Firetube gunners.

I don't think it's that weird, I saw some streamers go into NG+ with ♥♥♥♥ tier upgrades maybe because they couldn't farm whatever they needed for what they wanted.

They might have done the Shura ending and had less access to materials. While its possible the material drops are related to tool upgrades (something I considered as well) I dont think thats the case. I was stuck on Fatty Wax for some time before it started dropping.

The TC of the thread you linked did testing apparently, which is something I can always approve of, but they also mention the grey background is related to ''upgrade available'' which is not true at all, and easy to check: Divine Confetti also has that background.

It means rare materials.

The TC doesnt mention how they tested and with something easily checkable already wrong I dont have much faith in their ''testing'' tbh.

The discussion is about when they drop them. Yellow Gunpowder is a rare drop that becomes more common later on. Other rare drops in that area are Fulminated Mercury and Fatty Wax.

You can tell its a rare drop because of the special item background.

Tho its more grey then silver really. Either way, Yellow Gunpowder is a ''rare'' drop from them.

Which is to say before you progress the story its rare, and it becomes quite common afterwards (even more so with + item drop boosters)
