Fulminated Mercury Help?

So I am stuck on the illusion corrupted monk and O'rin that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥.

Anyway I decided to upgrade my prosthetics and the firecracker seems to be the best overall but I need fulminated mercury for it.

I can't find any though. I also don't know which enemies drop it.

I looked in the wiki but idk what enemies count as 'Ministry Gunners' for example.

Fulminated Mercury is found all the way at the end game, so there's no way that I know of that you could get your hands on any at this point in the game.

That said, I don't think any upgrade requiring it is going to make your fight any easier. The purple fume crackers have a highly delayed detonation and would probably be more of a hindrance than help in the monk fight, so I'd recommend the standard ones anyway.

If you go to the Gun Fort statue, head back to the 2 guys with the big guns. Use the Golden Vortex on them along with the loot balloon and the bell debuff they will drop like crazy.

Yeah you can easily skip O'rin, run right past her jump over the guy on the bridge and grapple up to the tree. Honestly you don't need the firecrackers for monk. Just don't try and parry her 5 hit combo. back off and hit and run. Fight becomes trivial.

The guys with the small canons drop it as well - use the Senpou Bell and stealth kill em; You should get more than enough out of them.

Yeah that works, the Golden Vortex just forces an extra loot drop from them so it makes it faster.

Er, pretty sure Corrupted Monk is an apparition not illusion so it would need Divine Confetti which is in short supply at this point.
O'Rin is irrelevant, you can just run past her and ignore her like I did many dozens of times in my commitment to beating that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Monk.

Can't see how the higher tier upgrades are gonna help you. You need to learn the fight or cheese it. I regretfully took the latter option and ended up using the Nightjar combat art. Every. Single. Time. she finished an attack, I would Nightjar in for 1 or 2 hits thanks to her lengthy sweeping attack style, then run away again, only deflecting if I had to.

Doesn't work on O'Rin but I eventually figured out how to play the game more effectively and beat her.

Gun Fortress only drops them in the very late game. I think they start dropping around the Guardian Ape/Mortal Sword but at that point they are super rare.

The corrupted monk is an illusion, tho I have no idea if those count as apparitions as for as the game is concerned.

I just managed to beat O'rin using the oil trick and then working on my sucky parries lol.

Any advice for corrupted monk illusion?

finding divine confetti? i already got the ones next to his arena

Yeah, I know, I ignored it for a reason.

You're proposing to spend possibly hours mind numbingly farming the Ashina samurai for Confetti that has a VERY short duration against a boss that the OP is clearly struggling with and will probably die repeatedly against?

Either keep going till you understand how to counter the boss or cheese it with Nightjar. Farming Confetti would likely only make it more frustrating.

Snap seed it to half health then firecrackers.

So they do drop it regardless of game progression. It was always meant to be a rare drop - sometimes it takes 30 tries, and at other times 3 drops in a row happen.

No, they didnt drop any for me at all before a certain point in the story, and I farmed that place a lot quite some time before I did Genichiro.

If you farm a place for a long time at several points during progression you can see the rare drops becoming more common and new drops appearing.

Only thing I'm not sure about is whether its story progression or skill point/exp/whatever related. (but story progression makes more sense)

Yeah I can believe that. Its like how enemies all over the game started to drop the more basic upgrade materials like Scrap Iron.

Ok I managed to beat the monk I realized I could use all these snap seeds, sugar, and the couple divine confetti I had left to stunlock the ♥♥♥♥♥.

Now I'm reinvading the castle and stuck on Vilehand. Man this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is awful.

The enemies drop higher tier materials the more of your tools you have upgraded, it has nothing to do with story progression.

If you looking for fulminated mercuty, come back after Ashina has been invaded, go to Ashina castle gate idol, pop a green balloon that increases item drop, use the golden vortex on the 4 red guards on the stair, run back to the idol and reset.
