Whichever ones get you through the area. Dont worry, youll have enough later. Spend that gold while you still have it

The purple umbrella is incredibly handy for some miniboss fights down the road
umbrella, shurikens and fireworks.

The charged upgrade for Flame Vent is a decent pickup for a few harder enemies as well.

The axe certainly, there are at least 2 minibosses I know you can cheese with it lol. Its an easter egg to dark souls infinite poise movesets lol

Only resources and upgrades that matter are for the last tier, for which there are only 6 lapis in the game in a single playthrough. (you'd need 10 to upgrade them all).

For those, axe and flame thingy are probably best.

I only have shuriken and axe on my bar, shuriken for closing distance (throw+r1 followup), axe for hardcore posture damage after deathblowing an enemy once or to stagger. Some people like flame vent but i find it to be meh.
Umbrella is cool but it gives bad habits and of course, requires spirit emblems. It's like a drug addiction, you need it cuz after a while you cant play without it, but it costs money to keep using.
Fireworks are good if you like to play defensively, and are used to cheese some bosses.
Sen throw is actually busted, but good luck having enough money to use it.
Raven is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ YEET, but its like umbrella, its a crutch.
Don't actually know what Sabimaru is good for, never bothered with it.

TLDR: Shuriken and Axe.

Honestly I haven't seen a single prosthetic upgrade yet that I felt was a 'must have.' I do not have them all yet though, by any means.

Its great for doing HP dmg to human bosses or mini bosses as it goes through parries. I beat genichiro phase 1 and 2 easily due to poison build up killing his HP. After that posture damage was easy.

The flame mist feather is pretty good

-Long fuse firecrackers
-Maxed out finger whistle
-Blue flamethrower for purging heretics
-Golden vortex for loot
-Sparking axe is amazing

How did you do that? He blocked me every time I tried to hit him with it.

I didn't know about the whistle. I have been thinking that this game needs a whistle since the beginning. That would have been a great early prosthetic thing.

yeah, its found off of gaurdian ape , but if you find his second fight, you can upgrade it to be nightmare for any beast or ghost type enemies. Even the first upgrade is super handy for stealth

Final upgrade allow the blade to summon poison mist in every swing . So block all he want .. poison will build up as long as he stand in the mist .
