D-do you know how summoning actually worked?? It would SIGNIFICANTLY reduce the damage you deal for every phantom you summoned. Hell, in DS2, it just straight up buffed enemy health by 100% every time you summoned
But this Character Creation removal is MASSIVE! Character Creation is a KEY feature in pretty much ALL modern RPGs. (with the exception of long-lifed series like LoZ and FF and indie games like Undertale and Sinner) Taking character creation out of Sekiro is like taking Custom Classes out of CoD: it’s just proper ediquette to make it a feature in the modern day.
Sekiro is not an RPG. For that matter, neither is Zelda. And nothing got removed, so much as it was never a part of it. Sekiro isn't "Souls - (INSERT FEATURE HERE)" because it's its own thing that, from the get go, didn't have those features (can't remove what wasn't there to begin with). In short, it doesn't need to have anything that Souls had.
you'll live
Anyway I'm sad MP is gone because invading/PVP kept DS games alive far far longer than they would have been without it. I also enjoyed PVP in DS 3 very much.
Also I will miss character customization because I like to play as female characters. More so ones I can customize. I wish they at least had a female option as the protagonist doesn't seem to have speaking lines.
I'm sure Sekiro will be good but after a playthrough ( maybe 2 or 3 ) it will be shelved.
Contrast that to the 700 something hours I have in DS3., Sekiro will be somewhat of a let down in that aspect. But oh well, I hear FROM is working on another RPG that's more in line with Dark Souls.
Yeah well sekiro is according to From a completely new IP so they have the official decisions on whar makes Sekiro Sekiro and not Souls.
Also the protagonist has speaking lines as confirmed by Miyazaki himself and the TGS trailer.
And as much as I like running around with my friends in multiplayer, Souls was never incredibly balanced for it, PvE nor PvP. It was also really annoying when your friend died, or when the host dies and has to use an item, and when laggy invaders come in. I think they'd kind of have to make the game FOR multiplayer to make the multiplayer really good. Like, I bet grappling would be laggy and wonky in PvP.
"there will be no Armor, Clothing or Skins of any kind and how the player looks in the gameplay footage is pretty much how he will look the entire game, with the exception of the tools you gain in your left hand. So if you were hoping for Fashion Sekiro, then you may be a bit disappointed in this regard."
Like you could be trying to go all stealth but someone invades and makes you let one rip.
Or you're in a tense battle and brown sauce starts running down your leg and you slip in the puddle.
Fromsoft needs to start takin notes.
And OP was claiming there wouldn't be 700 hours worth of content in Sekiro.
