Do you guys prefer the Japanese or English dub?
I usually prefer japanese voices in japanese themed games. Which do you guys like more?

Both are good.

I've only played with the Japanese one on, but I've seen at least one full playthrough with the English VO and it's pretty spot on.

I’ve been playing it with the Japanese audio, but recently I heard gyoubu’s opening battle cry in English and started wondering if I’ve been missing out.

English, as I can understand it. Japanese is just noise to me.

Japanese.
Voice acting is pretty stellar IMO.

Japanese voice work with English subtitles. Yes, Gyoubu is hilarious in English, I know. But it just breaks immersion for me to be in Sendoku period Japan and hear English.

If you are an English /Japanese native speaker maybe Japanese /English works better. I prefer English but you have to say Japanese version of robert is quite funny.

Japanese voice work... mainly cuz Shizuka Ito is doing the VA for Emma.

I like the Japanese better. Direct translations always sound a bit awkward and off.

Japanese all the way. Always play games in the original language, if possible.

The english version sounds very good and translated. Only the owl dialogue is kinda awkward

Having played through the game on each localisation I can say they all have their moments. I particularly like French Genichiro. English Gyoubu is a delight and Japanese Robert's Dad is the best.

If you're being super serious, it's probably just a matter of whether you want to hear the game in your language or weeb out hear it in it's original/appropriate language.

None of the performances in any of the languages were so egregious that I remembered any of them as bad (other than perhaps funny ones).

Frankly i prefer english. Mostly because some characters have far better and well-suited voices. With Wolf being the most obvious example. His voice in japanese is a little bit over-acted in my opinion, i like his soft confident english a lot more.
Isshin also sounds way cooler in english too.

I was torn until I met Bucket Carp Guy

If there was an option just for his English dub I'd be alright with it
