Question about whether I should do Doujun's quest (Possible Spoilers)

So...he seems kind of unsavory to me, and I'm pretty sure helping him involves cold-blooded murder of one of two folks who are mostly innocent....and the reward is these items called red lumps which, based on their item description on the wiki, seem about as interesting as their name makes them sound.

Doesn't seem worth it, I should just kill him to keep him from blocking that area off, right? Or am I missing something?

He's not really blocking anything though, you can circle around him.

It's a quest that's more about lore than anything else. If you just looked up what happens in the wiki, do whatever. I haven't really wasted time on it in playthroughs after the first times seeing the options with the characters involved.

The guy is evil, just kill him. I think he blocks the area tho, as killing him doesnt open it. You can find the entrance to that place inside the pool if you go further into the cave.

I'm sure red lumps are cool, but I've never felt the need to use them. I really hate killing NPCs, so he gets ignored by me
