Charlemagne scenario question
Just for curiosity, does anyone find a way to kill Karlmann with no war declaration?

Just let your enemies kill him. If Carloman is asking for help it means that he's under direct enemy attack.

The downside of him dying early is that his base may be underdeveloped and he won't have many military units remaining.

What the commenter above says. I got modestly lucky. His base was decently developed with a full ring of towers protecting it, he had decent number of villagers and his army they did not die not that I needed it. He wandered off and got sniped by camel riders. In that moment I was like "Well that was easy and convenient".

So basically I played on moderate and did a turtle boom strategy. And just walled the single north shallow leading to the saxons. They never attacked this. I doubled walled the West shallow to be safe. The enemies also never attacked there. Then I built a wall near the stone between me and Carloman (Red). Basically I made knights, pikeman and two castles for defense for throwing axeman. And eventually because I walled the enemies just confused with the pathing and attacked Red, killed Carloman which gave me a bunch of useless spearman but all his villagers and buildings to boost my economy. I used the villager boost from Carloman dying to get my economy unstoppable and then started fighting the enemies one at a time. Beat Saxons, converted the leaders and unlocked huskarls and faster barracks. Then I beat the Teal Fortress. Then I swarmed yellow with knights and huskarls and rams. Eventually he resigned. Then I beat orange and got to Rome. The pope makes Charlemagne stronger stats. Then I tried to attack green and didn't do well because I was still in the Castle Age. So I looked to find the last scholar was in England. Got him and got to imperial age. And made halberdiers which wrecked greens army and then my wonder got completed.

TL/DR
Just wall up and boom in the beginning and the enemies will either attack the wall without siege or attack Red and kill Carloman for the achievement. You can also just aggro some enemy units with your scout and bring the army to Carloman. If you don't wall which I did the first time, I got attacked by Camel Archers/Camel Riders from Green, Archers from Yellow, Infantry from Grey and Calvary Archers from Orange at the 25 minute mark. So at that point with four enemies attacking with 15-20 units each, I was overwhelmed.

I was trying to lure some enemy units to his town using my starting scout. Unfortunately, he survived with 1 hp left :sakurabeachmomokolaugh:.

He died later when his town was attacked.

Just don't help him.

I also have a question about this scenario, by the way:

What happens if you convert all Saxon leaders? I "accidentally" killed one.

Honestly I didn't notice much that happened besides having a few 'decent' hero units. Same with the castle you have to damage, basically just gives you...a castle and such. Was kinda hoping it would give me an AI ally, didn't need another castle lmao

So, from your answers I guess is more a matter of luck than of strategy.

You gain the ability to train Huskarls in your barracks. (You do not get their elite upgrade however.)

The other way to do it is use Mangonels and friendly fire him down. At least I assume that would work. What I've done is similar scenarios with other campaign missions.

No. It doesn't work. I tried it. You can kill everyone except Karlmann.

In my case, the Umayyads went for him with camels and killed him off rather quickly. Then I got the achievement for it and got his base and units.

I assume there's a trigger that lets you inherit his buildings and units so long as you are allied at the time of his death then. Personally I just declared war on him early on, before even attacking the other enemies.

He got wiped by enemies five minutes into the game. Played on moderate.
