What about the ever forward production buildings? Frequent man at arms right after feudal, Ranged units roaming in feudal/castle, knights, ect. High level play is all about aggression and the ability to defend your economy while doing so.
If "most" high level games ends up in imp it is probably because players can make that happen even with all the things I mentionned.
Um you can just watch hidden cup like right now and see that isn't the case at all.....
