So, to answer this: You forgot a word, its Age Of Empires II DE - Beta Owners PrePurchase Enable DLC. That is because there was a bug that players which were in the beta couldn't pre purchase the game. This "DLC" should patch it. So nothing you have to worry about.

im in beta too and dont have Age Of Empires II DE - Beta Owners PrePurchase Enable DLC !
is this a bug or how can i get this dlc? i want to preorder it :)

Hello,

You should be able to add AOE2:DE to your shopping cart on Steam and continue through checkout for pre-ordering. Since you are in the beta, you will get a prompt from Steam that you already own the product - you can ignore this message and click "Continue with Purchase".

Ay guys, i've tried this for about 2 months now - i am in the AOE Insider Programm, got the Pre Purchase Key and stuff, but i cant start the game, 4 reinstalls now. The support didnt answer to ANY of my requests for help, so id like to ask here whats going on: On DLC Options it says that the Beta Owners PrePurchase Enable DLC is "downloading" (this info doesnt change even after 3 days). If i want to start the game it gives me the error "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\AoE2DE\AoE2DE_s.exe"


And yes, thats the only thing my pop-up gives me. I can only press ok. Nothing changes if i re-install the game, nothing changes if i restart Steam. Nothing happens -.-

hi :)

du solltest eigtl eine email mit dem "beta aktivierungscode" haben, und ich meine damit nicht den steam key! sobald du nämlich den code nutzt, fängt die beta an sachen runterzuladen und die beta is freigeschalten ;) überprüfe also deine emails nach diesem freischaltcode !

enter beta with your beta code , that will give you .exe. If you would have read email you would know this (literally below product key)
