Hi there,

Yes, it runs on Windows 7.

I played DE on Win7 when it was released last year, a bug was introduced that stopped the game from running so I upgraded to Windows 10.

I now play on Win10, but I heard that the bug was fixed that stopped the game from running on Win7.

Just a note, you might need to update your c++ redistributables and I think theres also one optional update that Windows 7 needs. There's lots of info on the forums about this.

So try the game out on Windows 7 and if it doesn't work, ask for a refund within a few days. Just make sure you don't spend more than 2 hours in the game or else Steam might not give a refund.

It runs on window 7 although game is unsupported meaning there is no guaranteed it to work in future bu devs, game is only tested for windows 10 which is only supported OS.

If you cannot launch the game you can take a look at
https://www.ageofempires.com/support/aoe2#crash-after-launch (basically make sure you have all VRedists, up to date OS,drivers and game whitelisted on AV)
or/and

Note that errors may not show unless you launch game from .exe from game files

I've had no problems in running this AOE II DE on my Windows 7 computer.
