Stuck on race 3

I've been stuck on race 3 for over a week, no idea what the "trick" is to win it, and this game is no longer any fun. Obviously it's do-able because many have finished the DLC, but I don't see the answer. Somebody please just spoil it for me so I can get the scrap metal and move on. Thanks in advance.

I will give you a hint. did you play the main game ? If so remember the block with spikes on it by the RED Crystal ? This is the route you need to take for the 3rd race in the DLC.

I did play the main game, got 100% completion, but that was a while ago. I do not remember the part of the main game you're referencing.

OK, if you look there is a post with 5 spikes on it. You put the force cube on them and that is the way to go to beat the race.

Thank you!! I had figured out the part before the spikes, and the part after, but was missing your hint. Finally made it to loop 4.

Great, it also took me a while on that race also, until I saw the spikes, and remembered how they were used in the main game.

I didn't use the spikes - you can create a beam bridge from the elevator up to the elevator control button, then you can place a cube on the button and cross back over the beam to the goal area.

Yes that is the way,the beam bridge, but how did you get to the elevator in time to use it. The quickest way to the elevator is across the spikes to the platform, then the elevator.

Teleport ball up on the platform via the "ramp" area to the left

Using the teleport ball on the left was what I couldn't get to work. I would lose every race by like 1 or 2 seconds.

If you do it right, you win by 2 seconds without using serious skill

Cube/spikes is what I was missing. It helped to switch to kbm too. My controllering is kind of slow and sloppy by comparison.

I have no idea what you're talking about. The spikes do nothing and I can't place tether on to the cube, neither a tether can lead anywhere helpful.

Cube is for jumping on. Look for wooden things to tether.

Remember in the base game what you had to put on the spikes to get to the RED crystal ? And as" scruggsyw" said above wooden things are for the force beam to interact with.
