Mr. Farty

Hello,
so I am trying to beat Mr. Farty.
I managed to paint him orange.
I am guessing I'd need to launch an object at him with the nomnom bugs.
However, I could not find a single object in the area that I could use for that purpose.
The cube is required for the power+launch pad while the ball is required to conduct electricity - so what the heck do I use to fake the purple crystal for the nomnom bugs?
Any hints?

Thanks, but without that I could not have made the first step.

Here's my thinking:
I got the bugs in front of the pad, but they won't launch by themselves.
They should be attached to something purple.
I tried the cube of course, but that disappears when I put it on the pressure plate so the bugs stay at the pad.
The only other object I can move (lacking a stone or crystal) is the ball (painting that purple).
But the ball needs to conduct electricity or else the painter won't work.
The hint keeps repeating if you don't have a purple crystal, fake it. How? Either no object or no paint.
Where did I go wrong?

You don't need the painter to be active at the same time as you are launching the bugs, so no need to keep the ball there. Make the ball pink.

I got that, but how do you make the ball pink when you need the ball to power the painter?
(I said the same thing above with different words.)

What periurban said is correct. It is possible to do what he said, without relying on the thing you pointed out. There is an alternative way to get what you want.

It is possible to get what you want, within that confined area. You don't have to use that machine outside

Ok, here's a hint, which is potentially a spoiler If you can't use the machine to colour, then what can you use?

@Csimbi: If you are still stuck on that one, quick reminder:
You have already colored the Teleport ball without a paint spray by passing it through something of the corresponding color (Yellow Barrier->Yellow Ball). You can apply that with next to anything you can pass the ball through.

I think anymore and it would spell out the solution^^

IIRC, you shouldn't be sending the ball out of the building at all until the very last step.
