Green moon crystals. What next?

I got the two green moon crystals under the big red crystal. Ok, so far so good.
Only now, I can't seem to do anything to get to the next volcanic area.

I know, I know, I'm probably missing something in plain sight, I just don't know what.
What am I supposed to do with the green crystal near the entrance of the door that I want to get past?

Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to open the door? I genuinely can't find anything in the immediate area that I can interact with (that would open the door to the next volcanic area).

As I'm writing this reply, I just logged onto Steam, saw this, thought to myself "What?... Hmm, ok" played Supraland, and, lo and behold, I got through the door just like that!

It's amazing how a simple reply which doesn't look like it says anything at all, oddly enough, helped me with my predicament.
