[Bug] Red moon inserted in the same slot twice

Somehow I managed to put in the red moon in the same slot twice. I got my first moon in the demo and after purchase accidentally put it in one of the slots, didn't even realize what happened there. Later I collected 2 more red moons. After that I restarted the game and upon going back to the blue town door it let me put in one of the moons into the slot where I originally had put a moon in.

The last update fixed putting 2 moons into the same slot.
It however cannot bring moons back that were wasted, I'm super sorry about that.

What version number of the game are you on?

Putting in the moon twice into the same slot seems to have happened with the latest update. I launched the game about 5 hrs ago and played for about 2. Any cheeky ways to give myself an extra moon? I don't want to miss out on whatever they open.

Only by manually editing the save file - ask quintopia, he did it successfully once.

I just did this as well, and presumably ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up my savefile. I'm on 1.2b, is there anything I can do now?

I found a little bug just now that would still allow it (if the first moon was added before reloading the game), I fixed that now.

What you can do is take one of the backup savegames (check FAQ thread) and rename it to what your regular savegame is called. Load that and you are fine.

I think that this happened to me as well. I rechecked all of the chests and all 6 are empty. I also have all of the other achievements for the base game (including 100% chests found). I'll check the faq and see if I can fix via save games but it seems that this bug still exists.

When did you put 2 moons into the same slot? I mean in which version of the game? Just recently or a longer time ago? Because the fix I applied does not fix it if it got broken in the older version.

Ok, so this is how I solved it (I only vaguely remember).

You need to mess around with the values in the save file. Figure out which value corresponds to the moons.

Either making a backup of your current save and then reverting to a auto-made backup OR starting a new game will do.

Try to pick a point at which you have 1 moon, or no moons and then one. Once you figure out which value corresponds to the moons, fix the value to what you need.

This isn't to cheat. This is because, as much as I enjoyed the game, I spent multiple hours searching for all of them and then, upon looking up a walkthrough and realizing that I had gotten them all and the chests were empty, I realized that there was still a glitch in the game.

I can see about finding my documentation for this process, but hopefully that's enough to get you started. Comment back if you need more help.
