Red Seed and Water

So, I was backtracking a bit, and I realized I never actually completed the farmers recipe for a red seed and water. Thinking back, when I first encountered the area, I thought the sponges were the seeds, and when I hit them with water, they got bigger, and I was able to juice them and drink it. I assumed I had completed his recipe. However, after doing another recipe later on, I realize this is definitely not the case. My confusion earlier makes sense though, because from what I can tell, there aren't any SEEDS anywhere.[imgur.com] The guy plainly says the seeds are behind the store, but I've been around this entire area multiple times, and I'm not seeing any seeds. I've tried restarting the game, to see if maybe they spawn in, but they don't. Anyone have any idea what's going on? Am I glitched? Or am I just missing something super obvious?

They are behind the store, but you didn't find them yet ;)

PS: if you just drink a pure water drink, you get healed

I see David says you can find the red seeds in that area, but I never found them either. I ended up bringing a red seed from further in the game back to here (I also assumed the sponges were seeds at first as well and just drank the water).

The seeds are there. Look closer.

e: I didn't realize the sponges were sponges until I got past this part, by the way. I thought they were hay, and why would I get hay wet?

I thought they were cheese. You'd expect some deformation from a sponge in a game with physics, but nah.

Just to give you a hand, the seeds are less that about 1 meter from the walls of the store.

I found the seeds right away. what do i do with them? there is no machine in a cave. what am i missing

No other barrels up until this point that I've seen have lids, super misleading to have the lids in the first place, never mind the cheese but at least that's doable/visible.
