Stuck at Supraball champion's house

I just started a new playthrough, and made it to an area just outside of the purple crystal, at the Supraball champion's house. I can't seem to figure out how to get the girls to leave the area. I've gone back three other times and still can't see what I missed.

Also a bug to report in the same area- I was able to walk through the door to the Champion's house from the outside, skipping the chimney puzzle to get in.

On how to solve this puzzle, listen very closely to all involved NPCs.
But you don't have to solve it, it's an optional one.

There is a very good player who does not want girls. There is a poor player next door who wants girls. Each player has a rating on a wooden plaque on the wall of their houses. You can trick the girls into thinking one player is better than he really is.

This is not a hint, it's a straight solution. This takes the fun out of the game. Please fix it and replace it with a very subtle hint?

I guess solving the puzzle wasn't the issue; because his advice doesn't help me one bit (you can remove it if you want to). I have no access to other areas, and I'm stuck at the Champions house.

I've been roaming this same area for hours now looking in every nook and cranny trying to find something I've missed. At this point I don't even remember how I entered in the first place, it's all become a blur. I'm either completely missing something, or my game is bugged and I wasn't supposed to be in this area.

You are not stuck there because of the super star puzzle. This is totally not related to progressing to the purple crystal.

You came into this area from behind the superstar house.

Hmm, unfortunately all my paths are blocked. I must have somehow got over the wall w/o finding a powerup and/or the pick. I guess I'll restart and see if it happens again

you don't need anything new. just the float buckle and the gun. and you have those when you are there

I've got to say I'm stumped at this wall as well. Tried climbing the ball launcher, shooting the ball every direction, climbing onto the roof of the super star, I cannot get through to the next area. I remember doing it on an older version of the game, but the area looks completely different to me now. Been playing it for an hour now, no progress. What am I missing?

I always thought that this mechanism might be too much because it was never introduced in any way. I wrote down a note to myself to tutorialize this a little.

I'm looking through the metal gate.... there's a battery but all the spots to put the battery are on the other side. I tried shooting the battery to the conductors but that didn't work.

I can climb the door using the belt but there's an overhang I can't get around.
Tried shooting the ball over the wall then watching where it goes through the grats but nothing?

The solution is to just hold the battery through the gate and shoot it into the slot with the gun.
What happened when you tried it?
