Missed Stomp Shoes?...
So I've acquired the Magnetic Belt and have somehow completed the Rube Goldberg-ish puzzle that involves putting a yellow ball through a opening and lifting up a plank with the help of your stomping shoes and the purple cube.

Now the problem here isn't about the puzzle itself, because I've already solved it (?) by simply spawning a cube beneath the plank which lifts it up and lets the yellow ball pass to fall into the slot, granting me access to the previous area. The NPC standing next to the puzzle says that I do not have the required tools to solve this puzzle, which confused me at first since I was able to finish the puzzle, after which I realised after a google search that this indeed was not a minor bug or anything, but I've been missing the stomping shoes the whole time, which was required to raise the plank to let the yellow ball pass.

I have come back to the supraball field hoping to find the stomping shoes somewhere around. Any help on the location of the fabled shoes is appreciated.

IIRC, they are somewhere before the supraball field, in that area where there is a big trunk of tree with gold coin on top of it.

I'm a bit surprised you could actually go that far without them, I thought they were required somewhere on the way. But maybe not.

You can find more details (don't watch if you don't want to get direct spoilers) about where they are in the video walkthrough, this part:

Hate to necro this thread (no I don't >:D), but I can confirm that this is an issue. I'm already at the "get the green moons" part and I still haven't gotten the boots. Stomp boots seem to be a bit under-utilized.

I came as far as the nom-nom-flies and cacti until I realized that I had missed the stomp boots. You're supposed to get them way earlier.

So as to help anyone else in this situation without spoiling anything:
If you stumble upon an area that seems to excessively feature stomp mechanics, don't overlook it. Push on and explore it.

Necro to say that they are quite missable. I already had the tether and green ball before I went back and found them. The tricky thing with metroidvanias is that so many things are thrown at you which you simply can't do when you encounter them that you get used to just dismissing them and assuming you will find the ability later. This particular one isn't very good at forcing you down the stomp path before proceeding it seems.
Otherwise, the design in this game has been very good at preventing progression before it's due.
