Steam is rife with their ilk. Most of games media, and media in general, is owned and run by people with no real issues in their lives and a desperate craving for attention and power over others. This DEI crap is not profitable. It hasn't been profitable. The issue is market ownership is largely consolidated that a handful of companies in every industry, and they are all using DEI to get funding from special interest groups in place of profits from their goods or services. They are getting paid more to self destruct and vapidly promote 'the message,' so why should they bother making good... anything? Eventaully, the system will crumble underneath it's own hollowness. Value has to be produced for a market to function, and if all the buildings are garbage, all the food is garbage, all the media is garbage, and everything is garbage, well, eventually, people get sick of garbage and create alternative economies. Rinse and repeat since forever.
