Each DLC does things a little differently, rewarding different play-styles as each faction has its own way of doing things. It is always a learning process the first time playing a new faction/campaign --> and so it really helps if you are comfortable with the basic mechanics. Hope you enjoy!
Cheers!
Yeah, but what about the Sickle Stroke mission in Blitzkrieg? I stopped playing for a month after getting stuck on that one. It still stands out as the biggest difficulty spike to me, even after finishing Stalingrad.
Sickle Stroke is hard but it's managable. The key is not to push your armor through Sedan but up at the northern crossing. ALL armor need to push hard through there while supply and infantry catch up. Also, you need to transfer/buy specialists before the battle starts and put them at the breakthrough points.
This is why I love this game so much. I have developed an alternative strategy in which I can reliably get 100% by breaking through at both Sedan and Dinant and blocking all Allied advances across the Aine river. You can extend your supply source a lot further from the city northwest of Sedan (forgot its name) than you can through Dinant. If I remember correctly I did so on Normal though, I did a Classic playthrough of the a-historical path.
It makes you a follower or a middle finger.
Play through a Blitzkrieg campaign and compare your force starting the Midlands Blitz to the standalone scenario.
