The new version of Rad Rodgers is now available on Steam!

Dear Rad Rodgers community,

we are happy to announce that the new version of Rad Rodgers is now available on Steam:

As promised, all owners of the old version (Rad Rodgers: World One) will find the new Rad Rodgers version in their library - for free!

What is new on Rad Rodgers in comparison to World One?

• Leaderboards: Gain Scores at the end of each level, and battle with friends to reach the top of the leaderboards.
  
• Hats: Unlock more than 20 different hats throughout the game, and customize Rad Rodgers.
  
• New Pogo Vertigo Bonus Levels: Grab a Pogo Stick, and see how far you can get in the new Pogo Vertigo vertical levels.
  
• New Unlockables: Unlock behind the scenes artwork throughout the game.
  
• New Pixelverse Puzzles: Pixelverses have been redesigned, and now include brand new types of Puzzles.
  
• 5 New Levels! Fight through 3 new Pogostick Levels, and 2 massive new levels. The Rainforest Rampage, and Raging Ruins.
  
• Minibosses! Introducing 2 minibosses throughout the game.
  
• 4 New Enemies! The new Spiky Jellyfish, Powerful Laserheads, and 2 new Minibosses brings new and exciting challenges to the Rad Rodgers enemy roster.
  
• Brand new weapon! The legendary "Excalibat" from Rise of the Triad, makes a return to Rad Rodgers. Become invincible and smack your way through hordes of enemies with the mighty Excalibat.

While a simple patch/update on the old version was not possible due to slightly higher system requirements (just imagine an owner is not able to play the game any more due to that change!), we hope that you appreciate that step of a free-of-costs additional version for all owners and that you can still access both the old and the new version.

I see nothing in those new "features", that would mean higher system requirements.
Other devs would have released those as a DLC.

You release it as a completely new game, lol.

Just unwishlisted the "previous" game World 1.
Maybe you should develop something like uh World 2 instead?

There is PROBLEM - new version synch to old save games, thats good, but it does not sync with old achivements and does not upload stats from old version to new leaderboard.

Also for some reason i barely get 30-40 fps in this version while old one got 60 fps on my GTX 680 4gb and it does not look lik Crysis or Kingdome Come to me to perform that bad for a platformed that has very few 3d objects and has flat textures in backgrounds.

Optimization is really bad.

Synch with android mini game also missing.

Please, patch the game and fix these issues.

Yes, as it says on the store page just above the buy button, you will get both the "old" and new version.

I don't know if it's possible to sync achievements.
We have to look into that.

About optimizations; The game has been heavlily optimized compared to the old version.
We spent the over a year optimizing every aspect of the game from ground up (This was part of the console porting as well). All these optimizations has been brought to the PC versions as well.

If you got 60fps on the old version, you should at least expect a 20% increase on this version.

Well, if all the stats that unlock acivements are preserved in save file, you can just add script that will check saved stats for condition to unlock achivements. Its a common mistake when achivements are getting unlocked in real time when condition met, but condition not checked later at the load of save. Im not sure if you saved everything in previous version that would allow to transfer all achivements, but at least part of them would be better than nothing.

And what about leaderboards? I see that my old save counts every kill, points, time and all the progress i did at beaten levels, so can you make retroactive check for saved stats and upload them on savegame load?


As about performance, it sounds great in theory, but at practice game became slower, i dont know maybe its a result of recent Microsoft and Nvidia patches to Meltdown and Specter that somehow affected game, but i have more heavier games on UE3, UE4, CryEngine and something like GTAV, WIthcer 3, RE7 that run at smooth 60 fps with most of graphics maxed out at 1080p, while this game which does not look that heavy on graphics, totally loads up my GPU to 100% and gives me 40 fps at best and usually 30.

Maybe its a bug, it could be related to CPU timing, to HPET or something else, i dont know, but what i know for sure - game loads GPU and performs worse than CRYSIS 3, like its CRYSIS 10 and that was not the case with previous version.

I can vouch for the optimization issue. The old version gave me 60 fps on 4k resolution. With this new version, I have to scale back to 1080p to get 60 fps.
