Toko Issues... level 60, no Toko.

I have level 60 and over 1m gold from farming the Toko Island and still not one Toko has been tamable.

Issues like this have been around almost as long as JRPGs have. I feel that low RNG odds dependent things themselves are a flaw not a feature. It breaks the game and integrity of the game. Sure, some people get it their first try, within 4 battles, whatever - well, good for you, that doesn't mean I am anything other than level 61 with more than 10 hours at the toko island, and not one has been tamable.

Agreed. RNG is fine in some instances, like in a looter shooter, but for the most part, it's an archaic mechanic. I like old school games too, but not everything that was common in old school games is automatically good and needs to be preserved or brought back. There's no excuse for this nonsense to be here.

It can be a pain. I finally tamed one today after hundreds of Tokos battled (but took me over the span of weeks coming back to level up others over time).

I finally did find one, and am at level 70, and haven't gone to autumnia yet.

I am level 99 and I've spent hours on toko island.. not a single tameable toko..

FINALLY caught one toko! I .. am still trying to catch a second for my completionist goal of getting two of each stage 1 familiar.

At this point, the team I've been grinding on Toko island consists of..
3 level 99 wizards
Lv22 demoliceros
Lv79 stressy plessie
LV70+ dynamite

And i'm thinking at least 30+ maxed out stage 2 familiars (as in I've leveled these familiars to a point where they are ready to evolve and have learned all the skills available at their stage, which is about LV30 on average)

Toko took the longest to catch out of all other familiars BY FAR. There were a few others that took longer than usual to catch like the elephant familiar and both demoliceros (and even that anglerfish mon strangely) but neither took nearly as long as this one single toko

I heard the tree familiars were tough too but strangely for me it only took me a few rounds to catch a set of 2

Finally caught my second Toko! I am finally done with this freaking island.

To kinda give an idea on how many battles this took, I added the first Toko to my team right after catching them and had them in the party when I was grinding in Toko Island.

By the time I caught my SECOND toko, my first Toko was at level 4 (about 7k xp from reaching level 5) and at about 4.5 hearts (on a diet of carrot cakes, a tier 2 favourite snack).

I was actually wondering if the first Toko was going to reach third stage before I caught my second (pretty pessimistic but honestly given how long it took to catch my first.. eh), but "luckily" i caught them within Toko's first stage (don't get me wrong it's still a pretty long time given Toko's slow growth rate)
