NNK/NNK2
I'll just start by saying that this is my most anticipated release since DQ11. I have a small question if anyone is down to break it down for me/discuss. I personally loved NNK2, while it surely had some problems with the difficulty on release (idk how it is rn), it was still majorly enjoyable. My question is basically how do these two games compare to each other, where either of them surpasses another or fails? I would also appreciate if you could keep it relatively spoiler-free.

NNK1 is basically a Pokemon type game where you catch monster to fight for you (your character can all so fight if you wish), gather/craft items for monsters and feed them to evolve and so on.

NNK2 is a RT fighting game that only uses the character to fight (and Higgledy to help) and has a town building feature, while 1 didn't.

Most people liked one far better myself included but I still enjoyed 2.

What would you say about storytelling and world building?
Also would you compare NNK1 to World of Final Fantasy?

Instead of expanding on what people liked in NNK1 they just decided to scrap it and do something completely different with both the story and gameplay. This I feel just needlessly pushed fans of the first game away. I really like NNK2 but it does not compete with NNK1.

I wouldn't compare the story to World of Final Fantasy. As WoFF didn't really have a great story. Ni No Kuni's story is more comparable to other Studio Ghibli films. It's a work of art. I personally loved the story of the first one and not so much the second game. The game will most certainly draw you in and make you want to find out more and it does a pretty solid job at that. There are reasons why Ni No Kuni was highly rated and it's story plays a big part of that. Studio Ghibli being the company behind animated movies like, Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke, Howl's Moving Castle, and Castle in the Sky. They are also the ones who wrote the story for Ni No Kuni. Honestly, if you're a fan of the second games story I'd say you're going to love this story.

Apparently, NNK2's story has basically nothing to do with NNK1 apart from the setting and 1 piece of DLC.

I was wondering about WoFF more in a sense of gameplay. But I'm really glad people consider NNK's story superb since from what I've seen world building is also top notch. Can't wait to try it out for myself. Thank you!

Hearing that both games are very different hypes me up for NNK1. I played NNK2, but was disappointed in story, characters and boring fetch quests, that seemed like a majority of the game. I didn't really care for the town building part or that army battles mini game, and the game was too easy (at launch, now it seems to be fixed, but that isn't enough to draw me in again).
