Silver weighs, gold ingots don't. -Inventory management tip-
alright so a pretty good tip i wanna give you guys is when you have silver coins convert them all into gold ingots which you can buy in every shop and sell in every shop.
gold ingots are always at the price of 100 silver wether you sell it or buy it no matter where you go and is worth 100 silver.
1 silver coin weighs 0.1, but 20 silver coins weigh 0.2 and 100 weighs 1.0? why didnt you just make 1 silver coin 0.01? but still instead of carrying 1000 silver coins (which weighs a total of 10.0) you can carry 10 gold ingots (which weighs a total of 1.0
making it easier to carry money around without it weighing too much.

(i don't know if this was obvious or someone else has said this before but it took me some time to figure out so i wanted to make sure you all knew too.)
have fun everyone!

my genuine confusion when i was taking money and converting it but seeing how they make every 1 to 10 coins weigh 0.1 instead of just 0.01 to 0.1.

there are a few problems with this strategy however. 1: An excessive amount of gold bars can cause extreme amounts of load lag due to the fact the bars have durability and as such count as separate items. so a stack of 100 gold bars isn't just 1 item with a stack of 100 it's 100 separate items. 2: most non actual shop transactions require actual silver, gold bars aren't accounted for. and 3: depending on the situation, merchants might not have enough silver to pay for a transaction. EG: I ran into a caravan guy out in the field before and he had some stuff I wanted, all I had were 3 gold bars and the merchant had 23 silver on hand. every transaction that could get me what I wanted would result in the merchant owing 30 silver rendering the transaction impossible to actually complete since for some bizarre reason you can't accept a deal where you overpay for something willingly.

It's still a good strategy though overall. Just saying it does still have a few drawbacks. Problem #1 usually is more obvious in co-op. Problem #2 relates to things like paying for skills, or for example, the blood price deal at the start. If you have 0 silver, you can have 9000 gold bars but the game still wont' recognize you as having enough silver to pay the debt. (Which is honestly silly to me.) Problem #3 is usually really rare. But I HAVE had it happen to me twice. It's annoying when it does happen though. I'd also like to point out however, that gems work the same way. the buying and selling price is the same and the weight is only 0.1 each. So having a mixture of gems+gold ingots is a good way to break up your money without it weighing a ton.
