Legacy Chest - Not Working?

I am not sure if this is a bug or me not using the chest correctly. I have out items in the Legacy Chest but when I go to make a new character and open the chest there is nothing in them. I gave the new character the legacy of the character that put in the item but nothing is showing at all. Im really confused on how these things work. Anyone have some insight? Its the last trophy I need to platinum the game on PS4.

To my knowledge you just put an item in the legacy chest. Start a new charaacter pick that legacy then make your way to the chests and then get the items. I dont think anyone actually uses it though since it is a completely pointless system you can just split screen the game and give yourself items from your other characters.

Did you happen to figure the chest out? I’ve started a legacy character and I opened my chest with nothing in it. I even went back to my old character and put a different item in the chest, made another new legacy character and still nothing. I’m using splitscreen just to give my new character the Cierzo storage key, I’m hoping that’s not what’s causing the issue.

If you are giving yourself the key in splitscreen why not just give your character the items.

Same reason as the OP. Last trophy for the platinum. Don’t get me wrong, I love this game but I’ve completed it three times and I don’t want to have to run to Berg, join the Blue Chamber, run back to Cierzo, run to Vendavel, kill the warlords, then run back to Cierzo just to find out my item still isn’t in there.

You could actually just give yourself the cierzo town key and have access to the legacy chest literally at the very start of the game without having to join or do anything. You don't even have to save your house if you have the key to get the chest. It's what I did for my achivement for that one anyway.
Speaking of... The legacy system isn't ENTIRELY pointless as the legacy chest technically duplicates the item rather than simply transferring it over. EG: put item into cierzo chest, such as the lantern of souls, get new character, go to that chest, take lantern out, and voila, your new character and original character both have one. Suffice to say you could abuse the hell out of this to make infinite anything.

You could actually just give yourself the cierzo town key and have access to the legacy chest literally at the very start of the game without having to join or do anything. You don't even have to save your house if you have the key to get the chest. It's what I did for my achivement for that one anyway.

Thank you for the reply, Tymon. Giving myself the key at the start is what I’ve been trying to do. I’ve done it a couple of times but nothing ever shows up in the Legacy Chest for my new character. I’ve made sure when I start the new character that it says the item is in the Cierzo Storage Chest but I get down there with no luck. I was just wondering if I had to legitimately get the key but if the split screen method works, I might be doing something else wrong.

At the start of the game, when you are selecting a legacy, do the four slots shown in the selection thing have actual items in them? EG: Cierzo storage and then show an item in the slot above? Because if they have items in them, then it should be working, if they are empty then you are probably doing something wrong.

I only have an item in the Cierzo chest but yes, it shows. Do I need an item in all four chests for any item to transfer over?

Hmm you shouldn't need to. Tell you what, let me make a new character and transfer over a key, throw something into the chest, make ANOTHER new character, and transfer over the key again and see if I get a third lantern.

If I DO get a third lantern however it might mean that your game is bugged or something. I do know that the console versions have different patch lines than the pc version. the console ones have a newer patch than PC for example...

Welp... Bad news... Your game's legacy system must be broken. Jim which received his legacy from Bob, has a Soul Lantern in his cierzo storage. and Bob's legacy chests OTHER than the cierzo storage were empty.

Just to clarify... To make absolutely certain it is not something you are doing wrong...
Steps I took...
1: Made new character
2: Splitscreened my main character, and dropped cierzo town key and lantern of souls and picked them up on new character
3: Ran to the cierzo storage, threw lantern into legacy chest, gave key back to main character.
4: made a second new character
5: Splitscreened main to second new character, gave key to that one
6: Ran to cierzo storage, found lantern in chest
If you do this, and it still does not work, then yeah, your game is broken.

Just did exactly this. No dice. No platinum for me. :’(
