Storage in other cities...
Is there any? I just ran all the way to Berg and I have a full pack resources. What am I supposed to do with all of it?

You can't seriously expect me to run 10 minutes back to the starting city in another region all the time.

That's ridiculous.

You can buy a house in the city of the faction you joined, you can also place items inside a backpack and drop it, they should not despawn inside town.

You get 1 storage in starting village, then 1 storage in another city of your choice. Have to join that faction though.

And complaining about storage issues here is preaching to the choir. Pretty sure all of us would like shared storage or the ability to buy houses in multiple cities regardless of faction choice.

Oh wow. This actually works? That’s a reasonable workaround!

You could:

1. Sell the things you don't need or have too much of.
2. Buy the house for 500 silver, and there's a chest in there.
3. Continue adventuring, and use the stuff you brought with you while you explore.
4. Go all the way back to Cierzo.
5. Drop an extra backpack with the things you don't need to be carrying.

I see a lot of people complain about the low carrying capacity in this game, but it just takes a tiny bit of thought to gauge how much you should be taking with you. Carry a little of everything you need when you leave town, and make more supplies as you need them - you can break down weapons/armor that you find on the road for extra cloth or metal scraps, and then fashion those materials into traps. Not everything is worth looting. When I find a saber, I keep it to sell. When I find an iron sword, I break that thing down and use the scraps to make extra traps.

When I hit a new city, I'm usually buying a backpack. I drop the old one near the vendors and use it for storage. You can also make one, but it'll fill up quick and you'll be unable to move if you want to use it for crafting. Next, grab 6 wood for 2 camp fires and place them nearby. One for cooking and one for alchemy. Usually not in a rush and see if I can loot an alchemy kit, if I didn't pick one up along the way.

Have everything you need right at the merchants.

I did have one backpack disappear when I had left the game running for a few hours. Was probably caused by being tabbed out for so long. I simply swapped in the next latest save, which was practically the same time and it was back again. Possible I only had to reload or restart.

I have the exact same thing in the 2 cities I can't buy a house in. Have my own giant camp right in the middle camp fires and tents and backpacks everywhere. That'll teach those f-ers not to sell me a house. I 'm gonna get my own dancing girls soon.

Wait, so I have to join a faction to get more storage? So, I can really only store items in 2 of the 3 maps, without dropping a backpack, which is kind of cheese.

Well, that sucks. I'm starting to think the dude complaining about fast travel has a point.

I think the point is kind of that you have to travel light, and only settle down somewhere you're invested in.

Having permanent storage everywhere would make the management negligible

Storage in 2 or the 4 maps. But ya I don’t want any fast travel or mounts but they should let us have shared storage between cities

well i think if you complete the story line you can buy houses from where ever, but i haven't gotten there so i can't confirm.

Why not have storage units in the Inns?
Tymon May 2, 2019 @ 2:13pm
You can definitely eventually get all four houses.

I haven’t played much coop, but the only problem I have with the camps in town (which honestly I had been doing anyway. I figured out by accident when I upgraded my first backpack that the one I dropped didn’t disappear or lose items) is getting robbed lol.

I make a camp in every town, but I keep a separate backpack as hidden as possible with my important stuff in that I don’t really need to carry.

Also you can stuff a backpack unlimited regardless of its actual capacity as long as you’re not carrying it so they really are great alternative to not having a house in that city.

Thing is the game is not really designed for that. For example, money is super important, the main way of acquiring skills and progressing. However, to get money, you need to sell stuff. To sell stuff you need to be able to carry them to stores. That's impossible with limited carry capacity.

Not to mention all the crafting, and gathering, and collecting... How will you ever craft anything if you can't stash your unused items for later?
Evangelion Nov 16, 2019 @ 2:04pm
What a necro. You can purchase all the houses once you finish a story line.

#2, just drop a backpack in each city and use it to stash items. The towns do not respawn like rest of the world so what you drop there will stay there permanently.

Heh, sorry, didn't even notice dates, just encountered this myself.

Thanks for the advice
