The devs have a way to do it... so it is possible.
But I think their concern would be that you miss out on some of the content or challenge of getting there..
Once you have purchased a new house in a new city you should be able to fast travel between them.
Ah, I had no idea that this was already set in stone by the devs, shame.
I am not sure fast travel would be a good solution since it is against the game design. One solution is to change your armor to a type that allows faster travel.
Would be great.
Also to that perhaps in order to even have access to said fast travel mechanic for certain regions you have to find it and mark it on said map item I suggested. It would be a blank map with only the major sites already marked. The player can place down markers as fast travel points and the distance between markers could equal the amount of hardtack required, danger, and time. It would be lame to just have the fast travel suddenly unlocked and you can just spend hardtack to get from Ceirzo to Levant. After you discover it though I feel like it should be fair game to fast travel.
