But I like to share 2 thoughts.
In the settings you can adjust the people. Something like should they move while walking or something like that. I have that pretty low for I seldom watch the citizens.
Having less trees may help a bit. In the editor U can kick of all trees. Than place some where you need and want some.

don't build too many different buildings (something like max 2-3 different residential building types in city)
