Trying to find out if there is a way to acquire COR-ROAM Mellow Seven hero mech in-game. I've only seen it as option while playing instant action. Sidenote I know it is part of YAML. Just wondering if it appears in the wild at all.

Seems to me like this is a weaker version of the normal corsair you usually encounter. The one you can mount two gauss on it.

Edit: well, I guess since this is modded you could in theory mount anything on the balistic slots, right? Why not mount four gauss instead?

I don't think having Gauss be limited to where the body's looking is a wise idea but I'm sure others might disagree with that.

I read were people say that hero mechs don't spawn in the wild, but during the long mission(s) for Davion, (one of the DLCs), I picked up a commando as salvage and was going to sell and found out it was the Hero Ember. Surprised the hell out of me, was the 2nd commando hero I have (bought the other one.) don't know if YAML is responsible, am using them.

So you never know apparently....

I just recently acquired a hero Orion from salvage in a random mission, nothing to do with a campaign or DLC.

Was it after a series of contracts for the "Will of Kali" church? Because if it was then that WAS DLC chap, unless you have a mod like Unification that makes hero mechs be encounterable during missions, there's only two ways to acquire hero mechs either as salvage rewards from missions or from the shops.

I think you might mean the Firestarter. This is actually a special case in that at least two Firestarter heroes appear as hostile mechs in the Kestrel Lancers campaign. As the Kestrel Lancers DLC has all hard-set scripted missions, those mechs will always spawn.

I've got the hero Corsair COR-PVT from a mission in game. But I haven't seen that Corsair variant.

You can find the hero mechs from YAML/YACM/etc. as enemies in higher difficulty missions. If you are using Coyote's mission mod then you will see them more often in the endgame missions, and can get them as rewards from endgame missions. They can also show up for sale in markets in a system that has hero mechs for sale.

Or you can use the mech delivery mod to special order whatever you want to be shipped directly to your mech bay. If you decide to go that route be prepared to spend 100-200+ million cbills per mech and wait up to a year for the delivery.

I double checked one is the FS-9-E Firestarter "Ember", the other is a COM-TDK "The Deaths Knell". You are correct, sirah! I think I bought the COM-TDK.

Thank you Talien. This was a great suggestion. Unfortunately the mech wasn't listed for some reason. Which has only sparked my desire for it even more. Though the Ravager version was listed. And yes I did try with years and rep toggled off. Still no dice. Guess I'll hope against hope to find it on the battlefield.

Its because it doesn't exist. The corsair is only 95 ton and that shows 115 ton and way more weapon slots than any corsair model I know of. Its just a cheat mech for people who aren't good enough to use a real corsair.
