What is up with all the 30 MB downloads every day ?
So like for the past week i think almost every day steam downloaded like 20-30 MB patches for DOOM Eternal.

I mean i'm not complaining, but seriously almost every day ?

Why not just give us 1 bigger patch instead of multiple smaller ones ?

it's shader precaching, not updates

So let me get this straight this is gonna happen every day from now on for the game ?

I mean i understand it has to load shaders for a game like Horizon Zero Dawn cuz that was PS4 game and ported to PC.

But come on... we're talking about DOOM Eternal... this was literally made from the ground up on the PC platform i think... it's not some port.

hzd loads dx12 shaders, not the same thing at all and it has nothing to do with it being console port

shader precaching is for vulkan shaders

i dunno how often it's refreshed, it's different for everyone, maybe your shaders keep getting corrupted for some reason

you can disable shader precaching under steam -> settings, if it bothers you that much, but it might increase loading times

I mean download finishes in 1-2 seconds cuz i get 35 MB/s speed but it's just kinda annoying it has to do this so often.

Do you have to hand-crank your downloads like a Model-T Ford?

it could also be due to the new downloads system that was introduced in the last steam update and it's bugging out, causing it to refresh too often.

Bruh tell me about it... it's been doing this for the past 3 weeks i think every damn day... seriously WTF... is it so hard for them to fix this issue ?

It's a steam issue - just turn of "Shader pre-caching" in steam settings for Vulkan - problem solved. Hell, it even improves the performance for some people.
