Work on the next Hero already started. It will be shorter, cheaper and more adventure oriented then Hero 3. Random respawns will be minimized, skill progression will be removed (but there will be more skills available). There will be no princess and perhaps a dragon will appear ;-)

@Lonely Troops "Adventure"? Like, your appeal was always in the little things. Always taking the time to help build a fence or plow a field. The boat dragged towards the end but the consruction was fun. I liked making things & helping people with personal problems rather than just finding new ways to kill bigger things.

Skill progression is seriously flawed here but not bad in consept. You just went from three (or none) to 100 & combined with the random respawn problem made a multi-tiered bottleneck.
On the other hand spliting them into more skills sounds awesome, especially if it's more than just making iron smithing & silver smithing different skills.

I don't care if there's a princess, you previous one was super helpful. The prince was fine too. I would love a dragon. I think we all would.

I'm such a fan of these games -- even with some of the things that are a bit annoying at times -- so I am ecstatic that work on Hero 4 has begun! Especially if there is a dragon!

"Adventure oriented" actually means more little quests about helping people (i.e story driven progress) and less RPG (i.e. fighting and grinding for skills progress).

Well said, Meep. And I wouldn't call this game a "failed experiment". This is a very good game. Just because it's slightly different from the previous 2 games doesn't mean it has failed. Every game has its plus and minus points.
