It also depends when you play, during the maintime it will get hart.
I always did low risk, Horse, Tool, t3 eqp gether my stuff never so much that I could not run at full speed when my horse left me :(
Even then 1 out of 3 times I got killed
But I always say to me I am dead if I could return back to the city this will be a surprise.
2. have a fast mount...
3. farm with combat gear...and take some pork pie to boost your gathering bonus
4. specter boots are expensive but the best and easiest way to escape
5. dont lose gear that you cant afford to lose
-Go into zones that don't have a main road through them. Less players will happen upon you while they're doing their own business.
-Stay far, far away from the road. As soon as you're in the zone, dip off the road. AND don't go off road in areas where that's the quickest way to the next zone, or you will get ganked.
-Take care which city portal you use. More big guilds and gankers operate out of Caerleon. You're better off moving to Lymhurst or Fort Sterling and using those portals. (For example, Arch owns 20 territories out of Caerleon and they have 10,000 players!)
-Stay awar from the territories, or big forts. As far as possible. Guildies will be running back and forth to these zones constantly to drop off loot.
-Join a guild that owns territories and stay in that territory to gather.
-Run if you see a player of any kind. An individual guy can't dismount you easily, but individuals will try to bait you or chase you into their invisible allies.
-Use T4 gear and mount, and buy the gear with the most useful skills (such as the cleric cowl's invincibility on hit). Use the pie as someone else mentioned, to make up for your lack of gatherer gear, or...
-Use gatherer gear and put all the escapes on. Most of them have things to put asleep enemies, move extremely fast, or go invisible to get away.
-Find a partner. Most individuals, no matter how geared, won't approach two or more red names incoming, unless they're baiting for bigger gank squads.
It's actually super easy if you've ever played stealth or survival games before. I've only died 2 times in the Black Zone, and one time I just did it to see if people were patrolling a certain area... They were lol
I can't wish tier 8 nodes into a yellow zone for you.
Is that really how it ends up working out though? I see so many complain about getting ganked by large zergs in red zones. I have yet to venture into PvP or red zones, but I plan to soon as I have just about got all my gathering up to T5.
In Black Zone you will get ganked by 10+ Man squads that dismount, open from stealth, surround you and have exits covered. I 'saw' more gankers in redzones in past 2 months, but never died to them whereas blackzones most of the time you see a ganker up close you are already dead man walking.
Reasons for that are that in red zones you get a defense buff, theres less valuable ressources so gatherers are lower value targets, reputation hit, high traffic (Faction Squads and Hellgate Teams can catch gankers, also other gankers). All of these things combined make it so that you get mostly the unexperienced people in redzones.
Rules of Survival are simple:
Never go overweight and use a fast Mount (swiftclaw or armored horse)
Mount up and run into opposite exit as soon as you see red especially skull, dont stop
Learn the game mechanics, your skills etc. (e.g. know how to use dungeon portals to your advantage, knowing how and when map exits let you traverse)
Familiarize yourself with the zone well, so you dont get slowed by mobs etc.
Dont wear gear that you are unconfortable with loosing ever (will cause anxiety and insecurity which can lead to bad decisions)
Stay away from Hellgates, Roads, and Entrances in general
Getting ganked sucks but you should always try to use it as a learning experience and think about what you could do better.
But if ure a noobie, dont gsther or craft ever. Jzst clear dungeons and buy your eq.
the hih level gear are normally used by players that play in group, so they can be strong and help each other, as a group, the risk to lose it is reduced by a lot. But you can get it to try solo world pvp if you want.
